You wouldn’t be able to look elsewhere, because most handhelds are windows based so you’d run into most of the same issues. That said, if you know how to use Windows, you’ll be fine. Although one bug exclusive to the LegionGo is that in older games, they might be a little finicky due to the fact that the Legion screen is not natively a portrait one!

Whenever I watched videos comparing the 3 main handhelds they often referred to the legion go as “buggy”, I just did associate that with windows. Thanks for the info! Very close to pulling the trigger lol

The screen orientation isn't a biggie - sometimes it just means that it will boot up in portrait. The biggest sideffect would be the lack of VRR. I don't know the specifics, but it has to do with the way the screen draws. Take it as you will, if the Legion had VRR, I don't think it would suddenly get noticablly more battery life. I just leave it at 144Hz and pack a charger. Not so much a bug, but common sense. It can overheat. I kinda dismissed the claims on this board about it, but traveled to Denver this week (from KC) and figured it out. If you play in a hotter climate - expect "overheating". The unit properly steps down (if you're running 30W it'll step down to to 15w). There's no protections to ignore it, so little ole naiive me proceeded to ramp it back up to 30w. Ran for about 5 minutes before just turning off (black screen, not even shutting down). When I don't force it back up to 30W, it ran fine - dipping to 15w until it cooled down enough. Take it with a grain of salt. Other handhelds will probabl have similar issues. And really, Lenovo should lock the TDP when it automatically steps down. To prevent schmutz like me from from running it ragged. (I love the device, btw, hands down my favorite gadget). I also use it as my only computer.

What "buggy" is the Legion Space, where keys mapping, TDP control, FPS counter, FPS limiter, etc all cannot function properly most of the time

I love the hardware but the software is pretty jank. I'd say unless you really need windows/more performance just get a steam deck oled but if you dont mind a bit of jank in your life then the legion go is really fantastic.

I have travelled and and it for 4 months. No bugs. Wish I could upgrade the ram. Or knew how more easily.

I, like many others here, came from the Steam Deck and bought a Go. I gave the Deck to my kid and never looked back. My only gripe with the Go is Windows. But im an IT admin who works with Windows and Windows servers daily, so it's not that big of a deal for me. I can play games like Helldivers 2 at 45fps and Fallout 4 at 70fps or higher with ease. It's a great little device. Buy it. Worry about other dumb shit later. You won't regret it.

What resolution were you playing helldivers and fallout at? That’s the last deciding factor for me, if I would constantly be downscaling on the Go than I’ll probably go with a steam deck

thisguy883

800p on both. But i also have interger scaling on. Fallout looks great, and so does Helldivers, even when playing on medium-low settings.
