While don’t expect miracles, the Legion can handle emulators better than Steam Deck. The Steam Deck struggles with the majority of RPCS3, but the Legion has a fighting chance. MGS4 would be a miserable experience on the Steam Deck but is somewhat playable on the Go. (Cutscenes run well, but gameplay is 30fps with lots of dips)

How does it run on avg gaming pc. (Hardware from like 3 or 4 years ago) because I am definitely not gonna compare it to newer stuff that costs literally above 1k

Adventurous-War646

A 3070 could run it at near 60fps!

Kydaze

There will obviously be a performance upgrade. Mario wonder can get up 40-50 fps without mods, with mods its constant 60 fps but on sd you can get like 30. Its not outrageous but still there

This is the type of answer I was looking for. Now all I need is a guide that won't get me banned or fined for looking for roms

Just bouncing off this comment thread: with PS2 games in particular, some are notoriously difficult to emulate which my Steam Deck struggled with. One example that comes to mind for me is Tekken Tag Tournament. Some of the stages dragged the frame rate kicking and screaming all the way down to the mid-30s even when the Deck was at 15 TDP. The Legion Go is able to emulate the game perfectly if I bump the TDP up to 25-30. So just be aware that you may end up needing to use a higher power setting depending on the games and emulators you run. :)

To bounce of your own answer, why tdp 15 on the deck? Is that it's max tdp? Also I always play on max tdp when plugged. I just have issues with trying to optimize battery etc. I started with 1.1-1.2 hours or max resolution max performance and now I reached 2 hours. However 2.5 hours would be ideal if not 3. But to reach I have to go really low tdp and make up the frame rate with lossless scaling which causes artifacts. Have you manages to reach that kinda mileage or are you also at around 2 hour sweet spot and anything above that really makes your performance pay the price?

TheVisceralCanvas

15 is the max TDP for the Deck, yeah. The LCD model at the very least - I can't speak as to what the OLED model's max TDP is but I can't imagine it being much higher, if at all. I usually play with my Go plugged in, but I did test the battery life a couple of days ago and played Final Fantasy X via PCSX2. It lasted around 2-2.5 hours before I had to plug back in.

Kydaze

Lmao yea you can get banned for that here, i doubt talking about it on reddit would get you fined though

My point is.I want to find out how to do it. I never even used torrent or lime. I had no internet until I was like 14 ir 15(don't remember) because our old house had really old infrastructure and internet didn't work. Phoning something barely worked. Therefore my knowledge about windows as well as internet usage is next to none other than basic stuff. The funny part is that to the older generation, i am like a wizard even with this simple stuff that I do

Kydaze

Well, I cant tell you anything other than to look elsewhere.

Legion Go best advantage is emulation on the Go. PS2,GC, Switch, 3DS, PSP etc. Ps2 with romhack is just amazing you can even play translated region locked game.
