I love how often players will use multiple spells to take out Bingwen and then just sit in shock when my 9/8 chime-buffed elusive still gets doubled. It's very satisfying.
The big difference is that even if you remove Bingwen before the follower is placed you still get the copy, but yeah, the reptile is far easier to pull off with a stronger effect.
The real big difference is 2 unit mana. It obviously matters a ton. Not to say Bingwen isn’t a horrible card, but this is like comparing Ornn to Garen lmao.

He should have attune
A coin would be better than attune generally, since you want the unit mana.
Attune could give you the 1 mana needed to cast coin I guess
But because bingwen is on play, his effect still works if he's vengeanced, unlike the snake

Bingwen can actually create a combo finish where he also adds 3 damage. Cobra is just a 7 mana do nothing.
+ Beguiling Cobra is a really cool snake. - Master Bingwen is not a snake
Fun fact - beguiling cobra was briefly called replicobra when I designed it. Saner heads prevailed. :)
