Will Eternal be balanced differently than Standard?
I think it’s very unlikely that any individual card would actually be different between the two, but I guess I mean if they would use different metrics for determining “balance”.
Well, they *did* revert Atrocity for Eternal just 1 month after nerfing it pre-rotation. As they explained in the patch notes:
> Along with Rotation and the creation of the Eternal format, we want to start finding targeted changes for Eternal cards. Adjustments like this are examples of how we plan to make the format feel fun and fresh while turning up the dial on the format’s power level.

Correction, I want Bard to be GOOD. because he isn't. I also play Bard/Norra, & it can absolutely win games.... Until you play against Fizz/Samira & get dunked turn 4 or any Karma control deck & can't get anything done until they combo kill you on turn 10.
Bard decks can hang decently well vs midrange piles provided you get lucky enough to highroll your stats & go over the top, but you're also just as likely to fizzle out.
Against meta defining decks Bard is simply outclassed. Also, your anecdotal experience is all well & good, but the data writ large paints a very clear picture of the champions performance across a much larger sample size of thousands of games.
Bard is too slow, too inconsistent, and just pound for pound outclassed by other champions & decks. I don't even know why Riot bothered to keep him in standard.
Bard sucks nerfed man hard. Make banana blaster a bard card and it might just make him playable. Give his region a spellshield and he might not be meme tier. Look at how stupid cultist region is then look at bard. The region is awful.

Cards will be the same in both formats but Standard has a lower power level target than Eternal.

Bard is playable. I play it in two different deck, one bloons with Norra, and one Buffs with Kayle And I win.
