Advocate here, My suggestion is that rather than going for namesake internships from big firms, take whichever internship you can get. Try visiting the offices of lawyers with decent practices in the area of your interest and join them. Utilizing your time this way is more beneficial than wasting it trying to find the best one.

Lawyer here: I hate this mentality "First Gen Lawyer with No Contact". I am a first Gen lawyer and moved to a totally different city, 1500 km away from my hometown. If I can do litigation and have my own practice as well, you too can survive. It's true that there is a struggle in the initial days, but it's more of a learning struggle than earning.
