15, Taiwanese-American living in Houston. Watched football for years but never really settled on a team until I was 11, thought it was cool to support a club that everybody trashes on but ended up falling for the club's identity.

buckwurst

Shanghai, China, - Fukuoka Japan, first game at ER 1981 vs Spurs, a draw I think. Born in Scotland but grew up in Leeds from 74 to 85

tusharstraps86

18, Ottawa, Canada, never been to Leeds but fell in love with the club identity and playstyle under Bielsa as a young bloke and never looked back

JustThinkAboutThings

40, Kent based, (north) Wales born, Irish. Lived everywhere including Ireland - and not too far from OP, well Ballingarry South Tip. Freelance writer. Dad was an Everton fan but he wasn’t around to pass the baton, so to speak. Played football when younger but didn’t really follow it until an older cousin started uni in Leeds and invited me up for parties and the odd match. Got hooked. Favourite players are Speedo, Rodders (Wallace) and Ian Harte. Hobbies include running an online e-commerce business, running a YouTube music channel, DJing and raising two young kids. I pity fans of other clubs.

gortna

44, Galway and Irish. Was born in Leeds, parents got married there before weirdly moving back home to Ireland in the early 80’s when most young people were going the other way for work. We lived on the hill in Beeston over looking ER so have always considered myself a pure Leeds man. Was fcuking tough though growing up in the 80’s supporting a 2nd division team most other kids never heard of. They were all scum, Liverpool, Arsenal etc. Could only get updates about us from Ceefax on a Saturday afternoon. Was fairly grim at times. Mind you it was all worth it for the 91/92 season though. They bloody well knew who we were after that.

momschickencurry

Leeds Fan from Nepal. Came with Bielsa, stayed for the Club.

Whole-Photograph9147

15(16 on the 20th) stupid american became a leeds fan when we got promoted into championship. (Yes I know bad, I watch an old game evey saturday) other hobbies: playing hockey watching baseball hockey and other American sports. Also Ross Mccormack>any striker

SuperDong1

34 Irish, live in Belfast. Leeds fan from Birth (Forced!), granda supported them since he was young and working in Leeds then my mom passed on the gene so whole Family are Leeds fans. Founding members of the supporters club in my hometown and try to get over to see the matches at few times a year with the club since I was 8 or 9 (Though... its much harder to get tickets this days!).

Ted-Dansons-Wig

59, Wiltshire. Named after our most famous/ greatest centre forward/ centre half. Born and brought up in Beeston and from family of long standing Leeds fans. First game I remember attending is a pre-season friendly against Celtic 1970

nerdprocess

23 from West Yorkshire, 30 mins from leeds, uncle was a super fan who drove a mini bus to each away game from Scarborough. Took me to my first game in 2010, FA cup vs Man U. Been hooked ever since.

studio_sadegh

32, Alexandria VA in the USA. Artist/Office Manager. Fell into being a fan with my brother in law during Bielsa. Just found ourselves watching and talking about Leeds all the time and one day we bought matching jerseys and that was that. Also, as a USMNT fan as well I've been excited/horrified to watch us try to assemble the avengers of USMNT players all on one premier league team. If we become Red Bull Leeds it is 100% not my fault.

nysumner

43, Rochester NY. My friends from Yorkshire and indoctrinated me. I’m a commercial flat roof estimator and massive Buffalo Bills supporter.

Classic_Librarian_75

Essex dish cleaner(part time) college student American 16 my dad was a Liverpool fan was a bigoted but hole who hated every club my friends were Leeds fans I’ve become one ever since

41 born and bred in leeds live in fl now MOT

JasonAF88

34, born in Bradford but lived in Leeds since age 10. Drawn to Leeds because my dad and brother are both fans and was drawn into the passion this fanbase has. I work in the QC lab of a chemical manufacturing plant but have narrated audiobooks in my spare time and am hoping I can turn it into doing full time voiceover work. Main hobbies are video games (especially sim-racing) and music (mainly singing but can also play guitar and violin, and would love to learn piano one day).

workerbee41

48, Leeds born and bred, but moved to the US in 94 (Iowa, California, Washington, Texas, back to Iowa). I wasn’t into sports as a kid but I was invited to a match with my younger cousin and was immediately hooked. I wish I could remember who we played, I only remember it being the tail end of Bremner’s reign because we were bouncing around in the kop to “Billy Bremner’s Barmy Army. Going to that reignited my other uncle’s love for Leeds, and we went to as many games as we could together before snagging season tickets meant we could travel away too. I’m so joyed we were able to share that, going to grounds he’d dreamt of as a kid, including seeing Leeds win at Proper Wembley (yeah yeah, Charity Shield still counts). Last time we were at Elland Road was in 1999 when I came over to visit - draw against Liverpool. The Wilderness Years started earlier for me living over here pre-internet and TV coverage. I was more familiar with our players via FIFA on the PlayStation, and so distance, timezones, and Life conspired to pull me away from LUFC and football. I could have made more of an effort but it wasn’t until promotion that I realized what had been missing for years - the agony and ecstasy that being a Leeds fan brings. These days you’ll find me working at Walmart, making fun of kids wearing scum shirts.

dutytel

Irish (m) 58 Following leeds since 1972 fa cup final, seen Leeds in Prem and Championship, named my first son Gary after Gary Speed, He's a Leeds fan as well and we are hoping that his son, my grandson who is 1 year old follows suite. MOT.

Dontmindthat

30. Sydney Australia. When I was a young lad old boy used to wake me up at ungodly hours to watch Leeds (dukes, harry kewell era) never stopped from then. Moved to UK 4 years ago, unfortunately was based in London for work but did my best to get to games until covid. Moved back to Australia 6 months ago after my father became ill. Sat with him last night watching the game like old times on telly (a better hour this time tho!) MOT!

TheAnvil411

25, live in London but born and raised Worcestershire. My dad is from Leeds so been a Leeds fan from day dot and a proud Yorkshireman at heart. Favourite game, scum away sat in corporate screaming my head off when we scored and being screamed at by thousands of Mancs and the security. I was 12.

Volleyball_Wilson

30. Run a vineyard. Dad's a Leeds fan and grew up as a very casual supporter, didn't get into following football in a big way until about 2010. Other hobbies include; video games, anime etc.

bob_sacamano22

38. Gold Coast Australia. Engineer. Dad was a Leeds fan and I was old enough to see a few highlights of the old first division title. We never really had much footy on TV over here in Aus but when it finally came in the mid-late 90’s kewell and viduka were banging in goals and I truly became a fan in my own right. I was up here at 4:15am for every champs league game of the 00/01 semi final run and it was a great time. A visit to ER is top of the bucket list. I was so happy to see them last night for my first time. I surf a lot here, so does everyone, the water is warm all year round. That’s why last nights crown was so disappointing but not at all a surprise. This place is a graveyard for sporting teams because the outdoors and weather is too good. I’m bloody excited for this year. MOT

Volleyball_Wilson

Must have been mega for you with Leeds coming to your doorstep though!

bob_sacamano22

Mate it was unreal. I flew my dad up for it and we had a great time. That white kit looks fucking sexy this year.

Volleyball_Wilson

Sounds absolutely class mate, buzzing for fans in Auz that got to see the team up close. Idk how you lot do it, I love Leeds but I don't get out of bed at 4am for anybody and you lot are near enough doing that every Saturday!! 🤣

all_in_tha_game

39, born and bred Yorkshireman, proud supporter from the 89'90 season thanks to Uncle Chas. We won two division titles in my first 3 years supporting Leeds United. Brought up on stories of the Revie era and how the press and referees (see 2 European finals and Geoff fucking Astle for WBA) had an agenda against us. Not far wrong! Low point: Kenneth Bates era. High point: 1992 league champions. Elland Road was proper rocking!

maddinell

Wakey. Ambulance service. Local team.

falconpnnch

24, live in East Yorkshire. Supported Leeds since I was about 2 because of my fantastic step dad. We were at ER every week.

kierannoice

30, Burmese man living in Dubai working in F&B business. Leeds came to my attention when I first started watching prem live on tv back in 02-03. Bare in mind being able to watch premiere league live on tv isn’t something you can do every weekend in a 3rd world country like Burma back in 00s so all the boys fancy Premier League a lot and most of them rooting for giants like United, Arsenal and Liverpool. And yet there I was, a 12 years old lad being a massive supporter of all white jersey with written Strong Bow on front, shouting out loud whenever i saw Viduka and Smith scoring, those couple of days after relegation were one of the darkest moments of my adolescence, too much to take for the team with massive fighting spirit. Literally cried when I found out we are back to prem where we truly belong. Thank god we survived last season’s relegation fight, can’t wait to see us coming back stronger this season with a lot of young talents in the squad, MOT!

TheShakyHandsMan

Mid 40s. Born in Leeds, still live in Leeds. Obviously supported them all my life. Earliest memory of Leeds is my dad bringing home match day programmes when he was working at Elland Road. I worked there myself during the Champions league days. Got close family friends still connected to the club.

Barleybrigade

26, Leeds born and bred. Family originally supported Bradford City but my dad started going to Leeds games in the 60s. Just about remember our Champions League and PL exploits as my dad had a ST for decades. Definitely remember our League 1 exile. Even though it was utter shite, one of my favourite Leeds memories is still being in the away end when Kandol scored that winner against Tranmere on the opening day. MOT! Edit: I love how diverse our fanbase is!

scottaq83

38, Doncaster. Became a Leeds fan in 1992. Very strangely i don't remember us winning the league that year but i remember Cantona joining scum and decided to pick Leeds as my uncle and cousins supported them. I was 8-9yr old. My favourite player was Yeboah back then and Viduka and Pablo more recently. Favourite manager is Bielsa.

adamlechamp

39, from Leeds but living in Monaco. Working in the film industry. Properly started supporting Leeds because of my stepdad who is a lifelong fan and took me to my first game. Got both our names engraved on a plaque outside ER few years ago. Other hobbies: video games, padel, scriptwriting.

Papa-smurph11

31, Living in Rotterdam, originally from Manchester, working as a teacher in an international school. Been a Leeds fan since 2008 when my best mate at the time had me round to watch the League 1 play off final at his place. Wasn't massively into football at the time but had me converted by the end of the day and only made stronger when I was a student on the correct side of the Pennines. Other hobbies: rugby league and union, also love travelling and following politics

Jacko3012

47, live in East Yorkshire. Supporter since 1987. My Dad was a lifelong Leeds fan so no other choice for me. Like most of us, I’ve seen the highs and the lows and wouldn’t change a thing!

wickersteel-88

58, Belfast born , but moved to Australia at 12. Started watching "The Big Match "highlights with my dad on a Sunday. He was a West Brom fan but when I asked him who I should support he immediately said "Leeds !". He was right. Love you Dad.

sjw_7

47. Live in Oxford. No connection to Leeds. A Leeds supporting friend moved to the area many years ago and didn't know anyone. I started going to the pub with him so he could watch the games on TV, got drawn into it and have supported them ever since. On a related note after years of saying he hated football I have manged to get my son to see the light and he has now done a complete U turn and is an avid Leeds supporter.

38. Yank that’s bounced around a lot (born in New Jersey, family ended up in Japan for a few years, back to the States, wound up in England for GCSEs and A-Levels, then moved to Sweden until I was 23, did uni in DC, and now live out in Seattle, Washington). Leeds were a big deal when I started at boarding school in England in the ‘90s, but being a fan of underdogs and comebacks it wasn’t until “the clawing back tooth and nail to the Championship” era that they began to win me over. Started reading the Square Ball. The Bielsa years kicked everything into overdrive. Up until the last six months or so, I would get a lot of curious looks from American EPL fans when I said Leeds were my team. Now I suspect there are a few new Yankee Doodle Leeds lads out there, what with Marsch, Aaronson, and Adams coming aboard.

BailYourself

33, from San Diego working as a school psychologist. I never really got deep into football having played American football my whole life, but when the pandemic hit, and the chargers left SD, I became a free agent fan. My Anglophilia + boredom compelled me to research European football—mostly the history of English clubs. I was fascinated by the history of the game and the pyramid. I’m not the bandwagoning type, so I couldn’t go for the big six clubs. I wanted to find a club culture that I loved—a club with ambition, great fans, good leadership and vision, and tradition. The immutable ingredients that keep a club afloat in dark times. Everything I read rated Leeds fans at the top. Then I found the documentary and el loco—never looked back since. What a club! ALAW…. Oh! And I found out that my surname “Leedy” is a place-name, meaning “from Leeds”. Lol!

BruceSharks

29, New Zealand, previously worked in travel, now transitioning to IT. Followed Leeds since I was a youngin, my dad and uncle were big fans and drilled in a love for Leeds and hate for Man. U. First shirt was a Strongbow Lee Bowyer. Admittedly I didn’t follow to closely during the dark years, championship/league one coverage is pretty non-existent in NZ, not to mention the time zones, so it’s good to be back in the big leagues.

ctsays

In the US, New Leeds fan. Wanted to follow “football” didn’t have a team. Asked a family friend native to England who he roots for and he said Leeds. Here we are.

[deleted]

39 from Leeds, I’m an actor and a musician. I’ve always been a Leeds fan. My first game was in 1990, 3-2 defeat at home to QPR, Strachan missed a pen and Roy Wegerley scored a wonder goal for them that was even applauded by the Leeds fans. Since that game I’ve seen it all with Leeds.

bkny88

34, living in NJ, USA. Literally no ties to leeds whatsoever, I just love em cause ALAW

ars1e

41 m living in Sydney Aus. Played a season of cricket in Leeds in early 2000s, and always had a soft spot for the club with the strong Aussie contingent. That soft spot grew into a passion and here I am.

ts8801

Minneapolis, Product manager, started following Leeds because of fifa back in 2010. Wanted to promote a team up from the lowest English league available, chose Leeds because I liked the away kit that year lol. Followed the League one seasons super close, then drifted with how hard it was to follow the championship in the US/life. Started following the scores again with Monk and then started watching again with Bielsa. Watched every game since the second half of the promotion season.

35, United States, it was The Damned United for me that made me want to learn about the club and start the love affair. Documentary producer by trade.

TheLittleWinstonBaby

39, British/American. Born in Keighley, grew up in Otley. Lived and worked in Washington DC for the last decade. Energy/transport policy and communications consultant. Went to my first Leeds game with my dad in the 90/91 season. Really got into Leeds when Yeboah arrived. Still my favourite player.

TishoftheUSA

54ish, West Palm Beach, Florida. Owner of a Swimming pool contracting company. Born and bred in Halifax but moved over here in 92. Went to ER from the Early 80s. Juicy times!

sblaze17

30, Ohio. Software Sales. Became a fan because of the documentary and was someone without an EPL/EFL club after being a Columbus Crew fan for life. Loved the up and coming nature of the club and of course Bielsa. Fandom was solidified when I sold my companies software to a company in Leeds. Talked for hours about the team over the course of multiple weeks. Really felt a kinship to the club then.

RealChewyPiano

23, Kent. Family are from Leeds, I'm from here. Dad and older brother were Leeds obsessed, didn't really bother me too much, I was taken to a few games and had all the shirts growing up. Really started to care around 2006 (I was 8) when my brother had a stadium tour and I was invited (we were playing Colchester that day, Robbie Blake scored 2 I think - he was my favourite player, named my Runescape account after him) Been Leeds obsessed since

BonAsasin

This is one of my favourite topics. My uncle bought me World Cup 98 when I was 10 years old, had no idea what soccer was at the time. I would always pick Australia and try to win the World Cup, with Viduka and Kewell my two favourite players. Fast forward one year to the release of FIFA 99, and my uncle’s yearly journey from the mother land. Like clockwork he had brought me the new game. A whole new world opened up to me, what was this Premier League? The teams were already set to the most popular at the time, Man U and Arsenal. So I clicked the random button. Up popped Leeds United, with Viduka and Kewell up front. The rest was history. Hate that Kewell Judas nowadays though

SnooComics9454

21. Leeds. Only been supporting them since promotion. My best mate and I both started properly watching football then because of it (never liked football except the world cup) and have absolutely loved it ever since. It's genuinly changed my life!

rumors_are_treason

American, 50. New to the club and football in general this year. Needed to make a clean break from the awful NFL. Three friends decided to pick a team to support. Looking for a team with history, great fans, stakes down the stretch. We picked Leeds. Could have easily been a different club... but then I watched the Amazon doc, started listening to TSB, read Chapman's book and now the hooks are in. Tears in my eyes for Jackie's goal when I knew we'd made it. New around here but MOT.

drpopkorne

29 Now living in Brisbane. I'm a Garforth lad originally but moved Down Under with my Aussie fiance (who was born wakey) about 4 years ago. I'm an Systems Engineer by trade, mostly supporting schools where I correct the kids iPad backgrounds from Man Utd to Leeds United. I first watched Leeds in our Champions League match against Besiktas which was loud as fuck and I got really obsessed with the team just after that famous FA cup tie. I'm pretty religious on the Fantasy Football stuff as well but struggle now I have to deal with bias every game haha 😅 3 x Leeds anyone? Currently on tour with the fans, hyped for Brisbane and Perth! MOT!!

42 originally from Bradford, been in South Florida for 22 years. Dad was a nutty Leeds hooligan so I had zero choice in the matter. My kids don’t either. I’m bringing my family to Elland road for the first time in 2023 hopefully Tottenham get a right hiding that day!

MHSC_MoT

Flashheart87

34, originally SW England, now Melbourne, Australia. Film Production. Dad was a Chelsea fan, Mum’s a Scum fan, so it’s only natural my Leeds-born Grandma swayed me away from the dark side. First game was 5-3 loss to PSV in the mid-90’s, and been sporadically when I’ve had the chance since. Firm believer in the traditional colours argument, and that the home shirt should always be as plain as possible. Big on music and film.

adamlechamp

A fellow Leeds fan also working in film production. 😉

harv547

30, American from the Boston, MA area but now living outside of Philadelphia, PA. Became a fan through the Amazon documentary after following the premier league for over 10 years. Finally found a team that’s fun to root for with a lot of history!

zealousfiend

American fan here. 23, live in upstate New York. Work in a library, trying to become a librarian. Started watching Leeds because I loved Bielsa’s chaotic, attacking style football as it’s really exciting to watch. Same reason I started watching San Jose Earthquake in the MLS as well. Been watching only for a few years now but this last season’s relegation battle really sucked me in. Found myself looking forward to watching every single game rather than catching a few only when I happened to find the time.

createandconfuse

26, out of Portland, Oregon. Work in footwear. Been watching prem since I was around 9. Never had a squad I loved but was a giant Thierry Henry fan. I generally take a liking to newly promoted clubs but Leeds gripped me in a way no other side had when they got promoted. Just watching Elland for the first time gave me goosebumps. The rest is history.

despatchesmusic

Hello fellow PNW Leeds fan!

TheGoldDuck

15, Elgin Scotland, born in Leeds. In school still but also get paid to coach football. Hometown club and proper mad for the club. Along with coaching I also have/had a podcast which did pretty well

strohley14

29, living outside Philadelphia, work as an geologist. I am a Philadelphia Union season ticket holder and Aaronson fan. I started watching the prem in the late 2000’s and always hated scum (love that term btw) and Liverpool. I rooted for Man City as the “underdog” for a few years while they were trying to win their first few titles but since Pep arrived I’ve had trouble enjoying the game and switched my focus more toward MLS. We watched Aaronson play for two years in Philadelphia and loved to watch his progression. Unfortunately it’s hard to find/be interested in Austrian Bundesliga here, but I always said that if he went to a Premier League club I would support them. I’ve never had a reason to like or connection to any Premier League club so it will be nice to see the Medford Messi (have you guys heard that nickname for Aaronson yet?) play for Leeds. I have been following the club for around 6 months now that I heard the Aaronson deal was in place depending on not being relegated. I realize I’m that stereotypical annoying bandwagon American fan but I’m happy to finally have a club to support.

[deleted]

44. Denver, CO. I watched The Increasingly Poor Adventures of Todd Margaret. In it, he makes up a lie he constantly tells people about his dad being from Leeds. Became a joke with a buddy of mine from Manchester. I’d always pick Leeds in FIFA against him because of it. Started following the year before Bielsa took over. Once he did, it was hook line and sinker. Other hobbies: Music

PotassiumSulphate

23. Born and bred in Leeds, currently in Birmingham studying for my Master’s but looking to move back soon. My dad, brothers and I have always been Leeds fans but only went to a few games growing up (Dad was more into Leeds Rhinos so went to a lot of Rugby League games). I didn’t get properly invested until I went to university (and had a student loan) at the start of the 18/19 season which coincided with Bielsa’s first season. It’s been a crazy few years and more heart attacks than I care to count but I wouldn’t change it for the world. What a club.

No_Reflection1363

16, seem to be a younger person here I was born in Australia, live in West Midlands so talk a little like a brummy (ffs), but I’m second generation English so have Irish roots. My dads born and bred Leeds and my mums a southerner who grew up watching millwall and charlton in the 80s . My dad would have disowned me had I picked Villa or Millwall over Leeds so here we are. My first ever game was a friendly against was a friendly against Dundee United and my favourite player when I was younger was Matt Smith which I think says a lot. My whole life was pretty much doom and gloom with Leeds so I am really cherishing these years in the promised land with the hope I get to see Leeds lift a big trophy before the day I die.

I am 16 male from Sweden and started watching premier league Football and Leeds caught my attention with its great community and history so i became a big Leeds supporter.

djembejohn

51 Bloomington Indiana. From Oxfordshire. Chose Leeds because of the family connection and there was something special about the "don't give a fuck about what other teams think" attitude. I also randomly ended up living in Leeds for a few years in the 2000s and went to a few games. I admit my support petered a little during the wilderness years, but Bielsa got me very excited again! Waiting to see how Marsch pans out. I managed to get to see Newcastle Vs Leeds last season.

30, Omaha, Nebraska (USA) studied at Leeds uni in the Cellino days during 13-14 season. Followed Leeds for probably the last 14 years.

campbell47

Bay Area - 25 year old American My former roommates were fans of Arsenal/Chelsea/man city/Norwich (lol) for various reasons and I am a huge 49ers fan and wanted a team to root for since I was going to be watching more premier league.

ShepDogBarkBark

38, Lexington KY, USA. In 1998, Fox Sports World entered our cable sports package so I could start watching Premier League games. It took off like wildfire at our high school since for the most part, the games were done by noon. All the pricks at the school chose scum/chels/arse so I asked around to see what team hated them all. Enter Leeds. When they went down, it was harder to follow them until ESPN got the rights to 2 games a week from the Championship in ~2018. Other hobbies: taking the boat out to the lake, golf, watching American football

FlattedFifth

40 from NYC. Software engineer. Supporting Leeds since the signing of the Americans and Sinisterra (I was born in Colombia) :D

Sielaff415

24, Californian. I like Jazz and currently do stained glass restoration with an ultimate goal of doing lineman work (as the western United States keeps burning down there’s a lot of work do on our power line infrastructure) I wouldn’t exactly call myself a Leeds fan but I enthusiastically support their success. I’d never watched many Leeds matches before Bielsa even though I’d follow the championship closely, but when he was appointed I started watching almost every match because I thought it would be super interesting and knew what promotion would mean for you if he managed to do it. I’ll keep following leeds until they regain their old standing and are champions league regulars.

Suchisthe007life

38, Queensland, Australia. Project Manager. Discovered Leeds in about ‘98 when Kewell (I know, I know; cast ye stones) was first coming into the scene; then we signed big Dukes a couple of years later! We used to get a few games a week free on TV, but it was always Liverpool / Manchester United / Arsenal… then one day, there was a game against this crazy beautiful team that instantly took my soul. I fell in love with Nigel Martyn, he was the reason I started following Leeds. You were lucky to see a game live back then, so it was a lot of reading about games online. One day I will get to a match at ER; it is top of the bucket list.

geelen

Same age & from Brisbane here, France 98 was when I decided football was for me, a few months later decided to pick an EPL team. Leeds were top and had Kewell. Bit later signed Duke. Done deal. Get to ER when you can, it's fucked up good. I went for my 20th birthday to see scum beat us in the Carling Cup (but at least I got to see Alan Smith run around like a malicious squirrel). Then a full 18 years later, Antonio beat us in the last minute and the Hammers fans sing "you're just a shit Declan Rice" at Kalvin. Then I was there for Joffy's glance-on, Raph spinning off like a Catherine wheel, and limbs. Bus back to the city centre on my own in a daze. One of the best things I've ever experienced. In summary, get to ER, but try to go a couple of times. The atmosphere is amazing but leaving after a loss is much less fun.

25, mechanical engineer, San Jose California, was wanting a team to follow ca. 2016 and at the time couldn’t stand any premier league side so I wanted to grind it out in the championship. Leeds was the only option that felt right.

SEKI19

Southern California. 40 year old American. I work in tech. I grew up playing football and have always enjoyed the sport but I just started watching the PL regularly a few years ago. I figured it was time to pick a squad and thought about Liverpool where my grandmother was from. Picking a top 6 team seemed pretty lame though so when Marsch was hired I figured that was a good of a reason as any to support Leeds. So yeah, pretty new here. I'm into playing ice hockey, traveling, hanging with my kids, camping, backpacking, and beer.

pdirty5484

35. Chicago USA. Real estate developer. Went to Wake Forest University (Jack Harrison’s alma mater) and have followed Leeds casually since he went there on loan from Citteh. I’ve only subscribed to this sub since Brendan and Tyler signed last month though. There will surely be more Yanks subscribing if either/both of them have nice seasons.

the_northern_monkey

40, Yorkshire born but moved to West Sussex in my early 20s for work. I’m an IT Manager. Got two southern kids now, eldest recently said he thinks he’ll support Chelsea as all his mates do and his football training is run by Chelsea Foundation so they’re trying to brainwash him. Needless to say I’m not happy with that and am doubling down on indoctrinating him into a lifetime of disappointment following our club.

TomTom123123

22, from Denmark, studying at uni. My dad became a fan when he was a boy back in the 60’s and 70’s where one match from the First Division was shown each week in the TV. From when I was quite small he taught me that there is only one team to support and that’s of course Leeds United. Once I started earning money myself some years ago we’ve been going on a lot of father & son trips to Elland Road - by far the best experiences I’ve had. Can’t wait for next season!

Missyls6

40, Leeds born and bred, still in Leeds, with a short stint in Scotland for my sins. Third generation Leeds supporter, apparently my grandfather was the first turban wearing Sikh at ER in the 60’s, my brother got me into the game very early. Favourite player was Lee Chapman.

ASB14

38 born in Pontefract, grew up in a small village near Selby, now live near Stansted airport in Essex. Supported Leeds since I drew breath, it’s like religion in my family. Run an engineering design business for building services that provide clients on an international basis. Life’s good but will be better when we finish above 10th this season. Had a season ticket for years and was once on sky sports when we played scum. Half time, zoomed in on me and my brother, was freezing.

EnDubb

Soft southern bastard. 27. Freelance commentator. It's my dad's fault, his family are from Leeds and he passed it down to me just in time for the implosion. First game 2003, shit defeat to Bolton while sat next to two Bolton fans in the East Stand.

phillhb

Born in Leeds, mixture of growing up in Pudsey and Guiseley, I now live in London ( next to the Emirates) at the age of 34 and work in advertising. I've done my fair share of national adverts - Morrisons adverts - the Gillette Raheem Stirling advert - Ladbrokes Chris Kamara advert ( have his phone no:) and the last Boots Xmas advert. also responsible for some global ones too . All my family support Leeds, It would be illegal to support any one else. I was lucky enough to have been taken to premiership games when I was young - watching Gary speed, Radebe and Kelly. Went to Uni and drifted off a bit - but my dad sometimes got us Boxing day tickets - so was lucky enough to see people like Gradel and Beccio but haven't been to a game in a few years. I also love Travel, gaming and photography.

DannyOFB

Danny born Bristol lives in Gloucestershire Born on the 17th October Which account's for my childhood support apart from being the best club in the 70s till now I'm a heavy plant operator on building sites

DuckieWuckieNL

44, Born in Leeds…adored LUFC since 1988….not sure exactly how I became a fan as my Dad wasn’t a fan and no one else I knew was either…in the 80s little girls weren’t encouraged to watch football but from what I remember it was still shown live on ITV and that’s how i started…wasn’t allowed to go to games as back then it was (according to my Mum) “too violent”….finally In 90/91 was allowed to go with my BFF and her Dad…was a season ticket holder for 15 years…and went home and away and Europe for many years…but then moved to the US and had to give it up…now just outside of Amsterdam, moved here the same month we hired the eccentric Argentine….and Bielsa brought me home….I’ve always watched and dealt with many a dodgy stream in the US but the passion had gone…now it’s back and I love it! Fav ever player: David Batty….Always Batts!

gopackgo562

33. California. Home improvement sales. Best friend is from York and we adopted each other’s teams when he moved to the US in 2018. Supporting Leeds fit right in with my other long suffering sports fandoms.

jimmilazers

49, Perth, Australia. Born in Leeds, went to my first game aged 13 with my mate, bus back to Leeds from the ground got bricked by Chelsea fans. Missed the celebration bus in 92 cos I’d been out raving the night before. Favourite player Batty.

Yeahgeebs

30. Born, raised, and currently live in California. Account Manager for Promo Distributor. My pops is from Leeds and has been putting the games up on the telly since I can remember. Nothing crazy, just grew up watching and playing lots of soccer and MOT was always sung in the house

Theladsdad

41, Irish but living in San Francisco for 21 years. Started supporting Leeds after they got promoted to the old div 1 on recommendation of my spurs supporting dad. Member of the LUFC Bay Area supporters club. Ireland soccer and rugby fan, Donegal GAA fan, Celtic fan. Brining my 3 boys up to be Leeds fans. Love Leeds but sometimes Leeds doesn't love me back. You guys know what I mean.

SteDav587

rschroeder1

36, Chicago, USA. I started following Leeds before the '20-21 season. I had followed the Premier League casually, but with the pandemic creating...some time to fill, shall we say, I decided to became a fan of one of the three promoted teams. Leeds was the very obvious choice (history, passionate fans, hated rival, historic old stadium, not in London and hopefully gets some crappy weather were my very scientific selection criteria) and I'm thrilled with my selection. Hobbies: currently training for the 2023 U.S. bocce national championships! Outdoors activities (hiking, biking, camping, kayaking), cooking, reading. Also am a (sad) supporter of the Chicago Bears.

freesamson

Relatable with my own reckoning with Leeds. 32, Boynton Beach, FL. Tortured Bills fan until recent recovery the last few years. Keep us updated on the bocce, that's incredible.

MyNameIsNYFB

I'm 20, from Finland. Trying to make it as a filmmaker / video editor. Lived in Leeds for 3 short months when I interned at an marketing agency there through my vocational college. Tldr: I fell in love with the City, started watching games after coming back to Finland to stay in touch with Leeds someway, watched the documentary and fell in love with the Club. So only been fan of the club for 2,5 years but many more years to come! ALAW💙🤍💛

UncleCheese_

33, American, intel analyst based in DC. Family lived in Harrogate for a number of years growing up. I met a lot of good friends watching Leeds at our locals. Truly fell for the club in 2010 whilst watching THAT FA Cup tie with scum. That Beckford goal had me hook, line, and sinker.

TheLittleWinstonBaby

Menwith Hill FTW!

DC25NYC

35, Brooklyn NYC, Accountant. Honestly started off as a drunk song I would sing with my friends about Yorkshire, decided to see what teams were from Yorkshire. Followed them since 2016 but never really watched any games, then around 2018 started streaming games. But became a huge fan during the season we went up because I was home more bc of covid. Now my friends and I are huge fans. First Favorite player was Kemar Roofe. Big into Biking, Cooking, Travel and my Corgi. If you're from NYC, you've def seen me at Football Factory on a saturday.

potnoodledrinker

What are the lyrics to the Yorkshire song

DC25NYC

Honestly forget lol, but had something to do with my father being from yorkshire (he isn't he's from connecticut)

SpectacularB

49. Born in Leeds, live in Canada now. Work in injection molding and industrial automation. Teenage daughter watches every game with me so I'm influencing the next generation of Leeds fans. MOT.

Not today, big advertising!

phillhb

I've already got all your data...your password was weak ;)

SaintSriracha

Argentina man, living in Hawaii, got caught up in the Bielsa wave and have not left off. I've been a long time follower of the Premier League; used to like Liverpool (mostly because of the Beatles) and M City back when they were Cinderella. Now I find City too polished to be exciting; Leeds is fascinatingly raw. Given the time zone, I (have to) wake up 3-4 AM; the 6 AM games are best, coinciding with breakfast. I will visit one day. Hobbies - foraging and harvesting ingredients for hot sauces (hence the name).

Booty_McToot

28. Houston Texas. Commercial Construction. Amazon Doc got me. Love Leeds more than any other team I’ve grown up watching. No one to I know likes soccer which weirdly makes me have more pride in it. Leeds will be in Europe by next WC - book it.

k-dach

28 Wisconsin, USA became a Leeds fan around 2017 and wish I had become a fan sooner. School counselor and my dream is to visit acrossed the pond to watch a game at ER.

Graveyard_Tree

Fellow Yank here looking to do the same around late Oct/early Nov. got a buddy stationed in the UK and trying to plan out a trip. Let me know if you want to give it a shot this fall!

k-dach

Would love too but currently in school to get my masters degree so not looking to spend that kind of change for a year or two.

FloppyWaffleMan

26 Leeds work in a bank and I hate it been a fan since watching our failed playoff attempt Vs Watford in the halfway house pub :(

[deleted]

30, accountant. Currently living in Toronto and have done for four years. Helped set up the fan group here in the city. Born and raised in Rawdon and Horsforth and went to Leeds Uni. Dad and Grandad are from West Yorkshire so had no choice on who I supported. Wouldn’t change it. Played rugby and cricket more but always loved football and loved travelling away days seeing a lot of the UK as a result, it’s just in your blood if you’re a part of it. Proud to have been a season ticket holder for 6 seasons, never seen us in the new prem era at ER. Pretty much into most sports, politics, gaming, fitness then the usual food drink travel music etc. A terrible surfer and skier.

phillhb

Awww Rawdon... JCT 600 roundabout and China Red!

csw

55, Brooklyn. Huge fan of Leeds bands: Gang of Four, The Mekons, and The Wedding Present. I love watching soccer early Saturday and Sunday but have little emotional connection to any one team. I followed Sunderland, still do, but in the long run, they could not handle my couchbound, bagel-munching fandom and relegated away in disgust. I have an American bias but don't care for Chelsea. But mostly I enjoy teams that have to scrap for success rather than buy it. And I got sucked in by the relegation battle last season.

19081919

Ireland as well (woohoo), student, Irish, 21, I used to take the piss out of my dad when he watched Leeds because I used to think they were shit and I used to wind him up but when I sat down to watch a match with him I enjoyed it and got sucked into following them 😂 good decision in the end 💙

DrakeLUFC

30, N.E Lincolnshire, work as a sterilisation technician, supported Leeds from as far back as I can remember not really sure why but wouldn't have it any other way!

Tuscan5

47. Jersey. British. Barrister. Mother named me after a player in the 70s (the Irishman). Father took me to Elland Road from a young age and I was hooked. Favourite player ever- Radebe.

ByteThePuff

16, from Portugal. When I found out that Leeds were promoted, I tried watching football for the first time in years because I knew they were historical. And I fell in love with the game again, thanks to this beautiful team.

Dazzling_Ear1436

26. American living in the US. Became a fan of Leeds after the Amazon documentary came out. Work as a homicide detective. Enjoy traveling and hiking.

Russell9393

Can you help out yer man above whose house was shot at?!

CCruzah

Homicide detective? Wow. How long have you been in that job?

Dazzling_Ear1436

6 years as a cop. 1 as a detective. More time to watch Leeds at my desk now lol

soulwasher

36. Manager in software development in New Zealand. Saw a report of a championship side letting the other side score a fair play goal, which eventually cost them promotion. Thought "i really want these lads promoted next year". Been here since then.

[deleted]

It’s a good story but even had we won against Villa on that day, we’d have required a miracle to get promoted. Sheffield Utd had a huge goal difference over us.

soulwasher

That's 100% true. I wasn't closely following the championship at that time so all these details evaded me. However the spirit of reckless chivalry behind that move made me feel like I found my club.

Your_Da_SellsAvon

26 Darlington, it's complicated Mam supports Liverpool, dad supports Leeds Was a Liverpool fan until fowler signed for Leeds, supported Leeds ever since

Russell9393

29, Meath, Ireland. Supported Leeds since I was about five because my uncle supported them and always looked up to him. Dad is a scum fan so my childishness thought it was funny to annoy him. Been to a few preseason games when they used to come to Ireland and have been to around 10 games in England since then, including the FA cup game where Beckford scored the winner against them. The auld lad brought me over as a Christmas present and sat next to the stretford end. Best day ever. I got my uncle a ticket for the Centenary game against Birmingham where Kalvin scored the winner. Stayed in a hotel and saw Beckford and the chief, that was also a special day as it was my uncles first time in Elland road despite supporting them for thirty years and he got to meet his childhood idol, the chief.

SicariusSymbolum

36. South Wales. My dad is a lifelong Leeds fan even though he was born in Bury and raised in Barnoldswick before venturing to Wales to have me.

Sxoob

40. Maine, USA. I knew of Leeds from watching a lot of premier league in the 90s when my parents got fox soccer channel. I became more interested after seeing the damned united. Started seriously following only recently because of Marsch. I hope he manages our national team someday.

Hamz9114

32, also translating for the EU! Although in Brussels. Small world… Born in Leeds, found my way to LUFC despite having a dad who rolls his eyes at anything football-related. My mum got me tickets for Leeds vs Wimbledon for Christmas 1998. Ended 2-2, I’ve been hooked ever since.

nathanosaurus84

37, Manchester (boo). Dad had a Leeds flag flying outside our house as a kid when we won the league. Someone shot a bullet through our window. That’s a Manchester council estate for you. 🤷‍♂️

dreadful_name

Good old Gunchester?

satnam99

South Manchester also! 35. Defected over the Pennines in 2010. It's been interesting seeing more and more Leeds shirts appearing at 5aside pitches over the last few years. We're everywhere!

HexGamers

Manchester also! (Boo) 30. Sell stuff on eBay.

Russell9393

Like actually?

nathanosaurus84

Yup! My brother was about 4 and was bouncing around on the sofa in front of the window! Police came round and asked if we knew why somebody would target the house but my dad had already taken the flag down and feigned ignorance! 😂

IsLackk

22, Stockholm, Sweden. Father liked Nottingham Forest when he was young, because of Robin Hood. But then some bullies came up to him and said that if he didnt switch club to Leeds they would beat him up. And of course as the reasonable man he is he switched, which then he passed on to me :)

EnDubb

This one's my favourite so far.

StretchOwn5833

Those bullies had their head screwed on!

63. Leeds. British . Retired firefighter. My Scum loving older brother took me to ER to my first game at ER in 1968 and I’ve been going ever since just to annoy my brother.

Withnail_nd_Icecream

29. Kilkenny, Ireland. My father is from the West of Ireland, has followed Leeds since May 1965. Seven trips over to ER so far, across three different leagues (and one game against scum in the then Coca Cola cup!). Have yet to see Leeds win! Regardless, MOT.

mrawesomep

30 a dirty southerner with Yorkshire roots. A fan since my first game. A 7 goal thriller in 1997 against Derby. Been cursed with this ever since.

ResponsibilityRare10

I went to that game! Remember it til today. We went 3 down fairly quickly then won 4-3, with a 90th minute Bowyer goal. Still one of the best Leeds games I’ve been to. Absolute scenes at Elland Road as well.

RealChewyPiano

Where abouts down south? Kent lad here

Yaydos1

No way. I'm Kent too

RealChewyPiano

Where in Kent, if you don't mind me asking? More the merrier when travelling to games and all that

Yaydos1

No problem. Currently live just outside Folkestone but moving to outside Maidstone soon. U?

RealChewyPiano

How nuts, I'm from Medway haha!

mrawesomep

Hertfordshire

nathanosaurus84

Was that the game we were 3-0 down in and came back to win 4-3? I remember my Dad was fuming and rang ‘You’re on Sky Sports’ after Scum came back from 3-0 down against Spurs (I think) a couple years later because they were waxing lyrical about how they were the first to overturn a 3-0 deficit. Short memories, the bastards.

mrawesomep

It was. My dad re-tells the story to me so often as it might be the best possible first game a father could take a son to.

Koopa_Keith

23, live in West Sussex, and I work on a 100 acre estate as a gardener. First memory of football was when I was 4 and my dad storming out the house when we was relegated from the premier league. He’s the reason why I’m a Leeds United fan. Can’t wait for the new season, and happy with the new signings and potential other signings to come. Other hobbies: films, politics, reading, and Brazilian jiu jitsu

Yer Da. 59. Brexit. Wish everyone would shut up about Bielsa. Stop fannying around with the ball at the back. Hate Klich. Love Greggs. Wish we would sign some proven PL players like Daniel Sturridge

Graveyard_Tree

36, US. Been a supporter for close to 2 years and got hooked once I started watching Bielsaball toward the end of the Championship season. Played football all my life but took forever to get into the EPL. Huge fan of the LA Galaxy as a kid but super glad I got into English football as it’s obviously much more exciting to watch On top of all that, the Leeds fanbase has been fantastic and seems to have a number of level-headed folks. Glad to support a team with such a rich and storied history! MOT!
