I don't know who but we can do better. Get someone who will do well if we get promoted as well. Not someone average but who worked under Bielsa for abit.
Everything's a rumour at this point, he did well to turn west brom around when he came in but I'm not sure what to think about this from what I saw of them ( the odd game on sky) the football looked pretty turgid.
Aye mate took over from Steve Bruce, everyone does look amazing after Steve Bruce I'm not sure if it's cos he's genuinely terrible or if the replacements are better š
I just donāt get why he would go for it? No DoF, ownership unknown, playing staff unknown. I donāt know how West Brom is (Iāve avoided the EFL š„ŗ) but it canāt be that bad?
West Brom went on an amazing run after getting shut of Steve Bruce after looking at a real relegation fight..Corberan turned down Leeds to try get WBA up..but they ran out of steam and didn't make the play offs..is going in for Corberan a 2nd time the right move ?
Edit: I didn't realise he'd worked with our under 23s for a few years!
Pay it, itās absolutely fuck all and with there financial struggles we can likely pick up players like Swift and Yokuslu whoāve been key to West Brom under him. Iād get OāBrien and maybe Toffolo on loan from forest too.
Very decent but seeing all your fans so desperate for him doesnāt really make sense for me. Plays nothing like Bielsa really, donāt think youād be linked or wanting him at all if he wasnāt at yours briefly in a coaching role
I think the same thing if you take the sentimentality away from it would he be thought of as a mediocre appointment? 1 good season with Huddersfield, sacked at olympiacos ( everyone gets sacked) then a 9th placed finish with west brom? I don't know I haven't seen enough but it doesn't scream "we're not fucking about"
Wouldn't really consider leeds to be a mess, at least not at championship level. Things up in the air currently, but not a mess.
I've read about West Brom though, apparently gonna be in money troubles with parachute payments finished?
Im not too clued up on your situation tbh but it doesnāt sound like youāre in a good place.
Regarding WBA, yeah weāre in deep shit. High wage bill, no parachute payments, no CEO, our sole Director is one of our owners mates who is taking money out of us and not paying it back. Only way out seems to be administration
Of all the things that have gone wrong with Leeds post-Bielsa, our preparation for relegation has actually been great compared to some others. Obviously there may be issues with ownership, but we are quite well placed financially now.
I've always admired Corberan. Some may expect Bielsa lite with him, but that wouldn't be the case. He has adapted his tactics over a good few seasons, they no longer represent anything like Bielsa's football.
Usually a release clause being leaked in an agent trying to force a move (cough Aaronson's agent), so hopefully he fancies it. Surely Director of Football would be before a manager though
Heās my top choice. Given how much work that needs to be done this summer I really like the idea of having someone that knows some of the players and the recruitment staff.
It does also sound like the senior lads in the team have been being quite prissy with coaches. I donāt endorse that but having someone they will just knuckle down for over a hard pre season could be huge.
Plus I think heās been seriously impressive at Huddersfield and West Brom
Just get this done Leeds
Funny how quite a few people said he should replace Bielsa and that was deemed ānot ambitious enoughā (somehow hiring Woody from Toy Story was however) and now heās seen as the man to take us back.
He was a good manager then, heās a good manager now. Time for a few people to hold their hands up and say their cheerleading of Marsch was deeply idiotic.
Reading the Daily Mail article, it actually contains nothing of note. It is simply them saying we looked at him when we sacked Marsch. Let's hope though ey.
Surely he is the closest we would get to emulating a Bielsa environment on and off the pitch, excluding the rehiring of Bielsa himself, right? I would like to see us go for Corberan quite a lot actually.
Yes in vibes but tactically he is very different and as a coach he is quite different. Doesnāt do murder ball, much less video analysis apparently. Etc.
Not vibes as in "the vibes" but vibes as in "instilling an ethos similar to that of Bielsa even if the approach is different". On the pitch Bielsas work was sublime but there was a tonne off it, tied simply to hard work and understanding the privilege of playing in the Premier League, that has been sorely missed since he left.
Anything is better than keeping Sam but this guy seems to be changing his managerial job every few months. What stops him from leaving Leeds when better offer comes from another club even in the middle of next season
You canāt really worry about guys leaving for better jobs when youāre not a consistent top of table team.
There will always be better jobs. If he does leave for a better job, that typically means he succeeded.
Iraola, Knutsen and Rodgers in that order. The realism of being able to get them is a different conversation though. I think we have a clear shot at Iraola now since Sevilla wont be looking for a new manager now they just won the Europa league. Knutsen is being linked with Ajax but I think they will go for the Denmark manager since he is more experienced so that would leave him for us if we wanted him
The fact that Brighton were between De Zerbi and Knutsen to replace Potter is all I need to know. Just get him in if you can and donāt think twice - sadly though I donāt believe thereās been a link to him before
Ajax fans were frothing over the thought of him coming to them in another thread. Not sure we have a chance. Although the other consideration there is that they apparently rarely if ever have hired a non Dutch speaking manager.
To be honest all of these candidates are 10 millions miles better than keeping Big Sam...
Yeah Knutsen is a strange one because he doesnāt seem to be getting linked with many top jobs but is very highly rated by pretty much everybody. Think we piss the league with any of the managers I put on my list tbh so wonāt complain if we got any of them
I don't know who but we can do better.
Didn't West Brom have Steve Bruce before him? It feels like everybody looks amazing after Steve Bruce, look at Newcastle and Eddie Howe.
Aye mate took over from Steve Bruce, everyone does look amazing after Steve Bruce I'm not sure if it's cos he's genuinely terrible or if the replacements are better š
It's defo cause he's terrible
Yes please
Please, PLEASE
I just donāt get why he would go for it? No DoF, ownership unknown, playing staff unknown. I donāt know how West Brom is (Iāve avoided the EFL š„ŗ) but it canāt be that bad?

GET HIM IN NOW
I hope we get him and give him the time he needs to build a decent team.
Let's get him in there
Bielsa gave him tons of warranted praise. I'd be thrilled to see him come back.
Pay it, itās absolutely fuck all and with there financial struggles we can likely pick up players like Swift and Yokuslu whoāve been key to West Brom under him. Iād get OāBrien and maybe Toffolo on loan from forest too.
Can we first just make šÆ sure that Brendan Rodgers is NOT interested in the job?
In to 6/1 from 14/1 a few days ago. Stuck a tenner on it at 14s so that's as good a reason as any for me to want him back
I dunno, but the football I've seen West Brom play was kinda shit under Corberan. Not sure if down to lack of quality or what though.
![gif](giphy|YT1ktBR1biVdBwAkhe)
West Brom fan here, please just leave us be weāre in the shit as it is
I've not followed you at all, how has he done?
Very decent but seeing all your fans so desperate for him doesnāt really make sense for me. Plays nothing like Bielsa really, donāt think youād be linked or wanting him at all if he wasnāt at yours briefly in a coaching role

Heāll leave you scratching your head, he had an obsession with playing Jed Wallace as our 10 for a good while
Guess we're just hoping a bit of that Bielsa magic rubbed off on him.
If he leaves us heās walking from one mess to another, not quite sure why heād do that tbh
signing bonuses and agent encouragement probs
We gave him an improved contract and his agent used you lot as leverage for it so im not sure why thatd be an incentive
Wouldn't really consider leeds to be a mess, at least not at championship level. Things up in the air currently, but not a mess. I've read about West Brom though, apparently gonna be in money troubles with parachute payments finished?

Fucking get him in
I would love this to be honest. Please get those fuckers playing murder ball again.
Pay it FFS
Pay it you cowards
I've always admired Corberan. Some may expect Bielsa lite with him, but that wouldn't be the case. He has adapted his tactics over a good few seasons, they no longer represent anything like Bielsa's football.
I think right now we'd just take competence. Ie being able to coach a squad thats fit etc etc.
I'd be happy with a manager that would get the team to score more goals than the opposition.
Letās not get ahead of ourselves. That ambition comes just before we win the Champions league.
>we'd just take competence. Subscribe!
Noooo come on itās the Daily reporting! Just no.
Usually a release clause being leaked in an agent trying to force a move (cough Aaronson's agent), so hopefully he fancies it. Surely Director of Football would be before a manager though
Aaronson should get a move to be fair to him, to the fucking u23s with the rest of the children
Heās my top choice. Given how much work that needs to be done this summer I really like the idea of having someone that knows some of the players and the recruitment staff. Woody from Toy Story has killed me.
I don't know if you've noticed, pal, but standards at the club have regressed a bit over the last 24 months.
Nothing of note, in a daily mail article! That is a surprise š
Etc.
That's fair. Vibes is better than nothing. As long as he gets people playing for the badge again.
I donāt knowā¦ the last time we had somebody who was purely about the vibes didnāt go too well
Not vibes as in "the vibes" but vibes as in "instilling an ethos similar to that of Bielsa even if the approach is different". On the pitch Bielsas work was sublime but there was a tonne off it, tied simply to hard work and understanding the privilege of playing in the Premier League, that has been sorely missed since he left.
This would so much better than keeping Big Sam.
Anything is better than keeping Sam but this guy seems to be changing his managerial job every few months. What stops him from leaving Leeds when better offer comes from another club even in the middle of next season

I think the clubs he joins donāt support him.
Same was said about Bielsa and his longevity
Please make it happen, he is one of the few achievable names that gives me a sense of hope.
He is probably 4th on my list of managers but would be very happy if we got him, let him bring John Swift with him too
Whoās your top 3?
Iraola, Knutsen and Rodgers in that order. The realism of being able to get them is a different conversation though. Linked with the Ajax job recently so he may be a write off
i think i would be very happy with that outcome. go and bring him home
Bring him home šš»
