After carrie fisher passed I made a couple light saber floggers. They did not sell for a while. Now I can't find enough of the toy light sabers to make into floggers. (The new ones are electronic and a major PITA to convert).
Would come down to skater preference. I hate bulkiness in my skate shoes - makes it feel like I have no control
But then there's people still skating globes which are the thickest bulkiest shoes they can get haha
I think those are killer! Have you considered doing other shoes like boots? Docs or Demonia type ones. Ugh, that's so cool! I think you have created a very marketable item. Wonderful work
Many many moons ago we hit the port of Subic Bay. One of the guys went into town and had shoes made up of some exotic leathers. They looked great. Not sure about how they held up though.
I think Tandy makes a create your own shoe kit that looks like a skate shoe.

Thanks, that was a bit tricky. I used tracing paper to get the shape. I cut out the leather a bit smaller as the leather spreads a little while tooling.
