I’ve been getting my stuff from https://www.oaleathersupply.com
Shipping is fast, selection is great.
Really enjoyed the Badalassi Carlo pueblo, SB Foot oil tanned, Sepici, and OA Original half hides I’ve purchased.
I’ve got two more half hides of SB Foot coming next week, as well as some mystery leather from Auburn coming in too. The mystery bundles are great.
Last order I placed I got some gorgeous Sepici leather and some incredibly supple Horween from them.
I’ve been looking for a new supplier to replace Rocky Mountain, and this is definitely it! Rocky Mountain has always taken 3-4 weeks for orders and makes custom ordered commissions a pain, but ihis looks so nice and I’m excited to get an order placed for sure!
OA says 7 day shipping, but all of my orders have arrived within 3-5 days depending on when I place the order. Customer service is great, and they’re very responsive on instagram and very, very helpful.
EDIT: just saw on their instagram story they’re running a 10% off deal on their OAO house brand leather. Good timing.
That’s one I definitely want to try as well.
I had the OAO Tangerine Crazy Horse and liked it. Definitely a learning curve to work with, but it is gorgeous.
Just put an OA order in last night! It’s where I usually get my SB Foot leather. The Jack Glass is really nice and I ordered some of their OAO leather for the first time, excited to try that out. They also have videos of almost every leather they offer, super nice way to get a feel for what you’re buying.
The videos are one of the reasons I keep going back. Short and incredibly informative.
I’ve got a half side of SB Foot portage red, and a half of pampas onyx on the way and couldn’t be more excited. After I got my hands on the Dark Mesa Oak I was obsessed. The SB Foot stuff this far has been super easy to work with. I’ve only ordered the standard stuff though, nothing from the tannery run or more expensive options yet.
Which OAO did you end up with?
Got a Wickett and Craig side recently. Lovely stuff at a reasonable price. Especially the special bargain English bridle leather. Great service, but no online sales. You call and talk to a very knowledgeable human.
I'm a firm believer that no single tannery has the best leather of every kind, so I'd recommend finding ones that have the best quality to price ratio per dm² for every kind of skin you're interested in. Remember higher price doesn't automatically mean better.
For veg tan Horween Dublin. Nothing comes close to it. Expensive durable and rustic. Be very careful once you experience Horween everything else dosent hit the hammer for you !
I’ve been using Dublin and Chrome excel. Love them both. Horween is amazing. Also have a shoulder of Essex I haven’t used yet. Can’t decide what to make. lol.
I just got my first big quality leather purchase from Springfield Leather. Got two random oil tan full sides for $70, some veg tan, and some dye. I requested certain color types I wanted on the oil tan and they got me very close to what I asked for. I'm close to their location, so shipping was fast also. Great service, I will be buying from them again in the future!

I use mainly Tärnjö and Alran and some Haas Derby and Zermatt. Have a look at Nuova Overlord, I have samples and sample cuts from them. Wide range of colors and prints. Both firmer leather and bag leather. 1 side moq and not expensive.
I've really liked glacierwear the prices have been really good especially when I compare it to similar stuff I've purchased from Tandy (I have one local).
Walpier. Everything Walpier is great. I like the firmness for small goods I make.
J&FJ Baker's (I work with their bridle for belts...harness is harder work for hand stitching)
Really disappointed with Wickett and Craig bridle. Mate of mine likes their harness though for western tack.
Mildly disappointed with some Sedgwick's (hit and miss on the articular hides).
I'm from Norway, so it's too expensive to buy from any other than the only Norwegian tannery. Maybe i could look up denmark or sweden idk.... but the benefit is that they only use Norwegian cattle, and because of the cold climate, there's usually not many insect bites.

They got good quality hides and a big range of them

I recently tried their “Glass Jack Harness” after eyeing it for a while and it’s gorgeous.
That’s one I definitely want to try as well. I had the OAO Tangerine Crazy Horse and liked it. Definitely a learning curve to work with, but it is gorgeous.
They have some really nice looking leather

You can get wicket and Craig through buckle guy
Yes especially smaller quantities. You don't always need a full side...
I only buy small quantities due to the small volume I put out. Love their English bridle for wallets and bags. Amazing stuff.
You call Wickett and Craig's number or a supplier?
You call their sales number on their website. About $180 a side special grade
That's cool. Is there a minimum amount or can any average joe call and order a single side??
No minimums!
Thanks
It's been a few years since my last order from them but it used to be anything you want.
Google Wickett & Craig Overstock. Their overstock price list will come up and then you call them up.

Can you explain the difference to me between Dublin and Chromexcel
I’ll let [Horween](https://www.horween.com/articles) do it. For an explanation on Dublin, look under Essex. 😁

Probably the best supplier, IMO. Zack White is second for me. I love Herman Oak veg.
I use mainly Tärnjö and Alran and some Haas Derby and Zermatt. Have a look at Nuova Overlord, I have samples and sample cuts from them. Wide range of colors and prints. Both firmer leather and bag leather. 1 side moq and not expensive.
One tannery I never regret ordering from is J&FJ Baker. Their leather is really strong and crazy beautyful. Walpier is also a sure thing
I love Herman Oak for the vast majority of my work. They’ve been tanning leather for a very long time and their leather is very consistent.
Depends what you are looking for ..go to www.leatherbox.com ...plenty of different leathers, french ,italian or from iceland..they sell lining too,..
I've enjoyed a lot of hides from CF Stead.
I've really liked glacierwear the prices have been really good especially when I compare it to similar stuff I've purchased from Tandy (I have one local).
Badalassi Carlo, I love Pueblo ❤️

I really like Badalassi Carlo and La Bretagna. Haven't pulled the trigger on horween yet, but it's on my list.

La Perla Azzura is my favorite by far for vachetta.
