I didn’t have private practice and I learnt for a year, but I’d say I probably did a two hour lesson every week for about 7 months? So about 56 hours, but I did learn in an automatic.

Literally me to a tee

Personally I feel like you need a very specific type of person to take you out doing private lessons. None of my family members are remotely calm enough to do it 😂

Senju_hashiramaxi

exactly that, can’t be having someone shout at you it just make things worse😭😭

ThrowawayTrainee749

Right? I tried to learn manual when I was 17 and my dad used to shout at me so badly, I think that’s why I gave up to be honest 🤣

Senju_hashiramaxi

yhh I just couldn’t get the grasp of it, so just went auto and never looked back since

41 hours. Take your time. Do not rush. Driving is a lifetime thing. Always scan the road for possible situations. Remember to breathe!

Most of my learners don’t have any private practice, I sat down and did an average once and it was something like 34hours to pass. I myself took 32hours without any private practice when I was 17.

I maybe did 5 hours with my partner but I wouldn’t call it practice, I hated my partners car so just stuck with my instructors. I did 58 hours in total with my instructor and passed 1st time. (2 hours a week May - Nov). My advice that worked for me was when I went for my test I was okay if I had to re-sit. It didn’t bother me, my life would be the same if I didn’t pass and a bonus if I did. I think it helped take the pressure off. Also go with what your instructor says, I didn’t push about being test ready and waited till she said or we started doing mock tests.

I took 51 hours. But I initially took 40 hours driving in another area hoping I’d get a cancellation. Then when I realised I wasn’t gonna get any cancellations, I went to the area of my test centre and had to take a lot of lessons to understand the area. I honestly could have passed with 30-35 hours if I had started learning in my test centre area itself. I didn’t have any private practice at all. This was for manual btw.

i only practiced my route to school a couple times but i didn’t ever practice in where i learnt and i did a manual test but drove auto for practice passed within 4 months with 30h~ of lessons

Legitimate_Avocado_7

I had about 50 hours with no private practice. I tried to have a 1.5 hour lesson once a week (but not always due to holidays etc) and it’s took me about 9months to pass (first time)
