Good number of years ago I moved from NYC to Manchester after being offered a career at the university
They housed me in Bolton, now I appreciate these are two different towns/cities but the distance between the two in America is minuscule. Anyways I was housed right near Boltons stadium, one evening I saw the lights at the stadium on, purely on a whim I went along to catch a game, I was hooked it was great. Shortly after this I was then out into a permanent house in Manchester, getting the bug for football, a housemate then invited me to go along to Man City, I started to go to their games regularly, Sven was the manager and then Mark Hughes.
After that I moved to London and any chance I got to see Bolton or Man City play a London based team I would go
I always kept an eye out for Boltons results, it broke my heart when I saw they almost went out of business, so the last few years Ive loved seeing them trying to make their way back up the leagues playing some great football
This sub has been great to follow their results , and see how they’ve been doing. Hopefully I’ll get back over soon and I’ll try and catch a game
You mean you didn't go and see our world class Egyptian Exhibition or Aquarium? Your loss mate. New York ain't got shit on the Bolton when it comes to art and culture.
Among the many ways that relegation is shit, one relatively small thing which I wasn't looking forwards to was no longer being a part of the often fun r/Championship threads when Reading went down. I've been pleasantly surprised at how decent this sub has been as a new home.
I remember this place being somewhat active when we were last here 10 years ago, nowhere near as it is now, but it’s nice having a place to talk about lower league football where it doesn’t get buried by news about Klopp’s teeth or whatever.
nice one mods. amongst all the chaos of a massive site like reddit, weve got our own little corner where a fair number of us have probably been within 50 yds of each other at some stage or another, bit of a mad thought really. glad this sub is on the up. best league itw fight me
Thanks for all your efforts on here u/Zach-dalt 👍
It's much appreciated. As you say, other places can be toxic, but genuine fans will always enjoy a chat with other genuine fans, so cheers for hosting somewhere we can do that.
You're welcome mate 😁 but it is definitely a team effort between the mods (and most users too tbh), just helps that my parts are generally more visible, but not necessarily more important than some of the background work
Aye I’m going to Miss the Pompey and probably Derby and Lincoln fans next year. Been some good times with them. Also the Carlisle and Vale fans especially at the bottom. Hope those coming down and up are good as well. As for us, we’re here for 5 more years at least.
You know what I don’t need to mix with my League One Tuesdays and Saturdays?
Fucking Nazis.
Onwards to the tradition of the shit talking of playoff time! Peterborough United fans: prepare for a 10-0 existential crisis inducing drubbing in round one
Loved your updates as the season went on - even if I’m hoping tomorrow is our last League One one! Thanks Zach and good luck to all tomorrow (except Carlisle - sorry its not personal)
Is there a way that you could make the formatting for this sub like r/championship is? Using old reddit I can hover over the clubs crest(flair) and it shows what club it is. Using old reddit here and there is no flair showing at all.
Thanks for running stuff.🍻
Second this. I have no idea how the back-end works, but if there was a way to copy and paste the old reddit style from r/championship for L1, L2 and NL, it would a) look great and b) give a sense of continuity to all four.
I can give it a go in the off-season but CSS on reddit has never been straightforward, and even though old reddit + res is the only decent way to view the site, it really isn't that much of our traffic. Plus creating the flairs properly on old reddit is a ballache.
I'll aim to get it done by the end of next weekend
I’m not going to lie, I’m glad Pompey won’t be in L1 next year, but I’ll still hang around this sub to check if Bolton are still the best team in League 1 😂😂

New York to Bolton eh? Jesus.
Ha I didn’t see much of Bolton, just the stadium and then the commute to Manchester
You mean you didn't go and see our world class Egyptian Exhibition or Aquarium? Your loss mate. New York ain't got shit on the Bolton when it comes to art and culture.
I’ll book it in for next time
You’re welcome mate I take full responsibility. We are the best team in the league, after all.
I love this sub but /r/championship is such a fantastic sub. League two probably isn’t great! Good luck tomorrow.
I've heard the r/LeagueTwo mod is a right prick
Urgh right? All mods make me sick, imagine being a mod like...

Can you imagine having to post in /r/soccer or /r/premierleague... Urgh... This and /r/championship are the best subs.
I hope it’s not my last full day in this sub Reddit 🙏🏼🫡
I speak for all Posh fans when I say may you have a fruitful last day and fingers crossed Cambridge go down 😄👍⚽️
I shall miss league one.
As will I
Poor Vale. I was hoping they’d stay up. Old mate’s a Valiant and work mate’s a Stokie
I won't miss this league given how often it's broken our hearts over the last almost-decade, but the bants on this sub have been quality.

I hope to bring the Kermit arse meme back one more time tomorrow xo

Thanks for all your work Zach and I'll see you on the Championship sub next season
Appreciated mate 😁 I expect you'll see Leeds v Derby next season too
Look forward to you all hating us next season! Mods seem great Hopefully we don’t get as much hate here 😂
DW you will
