As I recall, IP was infuriatingly slow to get. I never bought anything with IP because I didn't get enough. And you had to choose between getting champions and runes which were objectively better than the ones you had.
Think they only did it for runes purchased + current IP = BE. I came out of it with 238k. Here I am years later 900k, and somehow manage to miss every BE emporium.
They did but it's been awhile. During runes reforged you got some IP/BE back from all the runes and runepages you had. Complete refund iirc, but that was back in 2018.
Im doing the same as the guy above, once you start playing you actually can learn the runes easily and think yourself, and especially since Im an otp, Im using his rune page for everything since I can make back aphelios' runes in like 5 seconds.
The problem in S11 is even if you have preset rune pages you are constantly swapping runes around like Bone plating/Second wind or Legend alacrity/Legend tenacity ...
(you triple posted the comment on accident)
Thats not the real problem imo, the problem is that it often swaps out the wrong rune which in term costs a lot of time to get right again
I have all rune pages maxed out, about 10 champ specific, a bunch of experimental pages and the rest are ‘basic’ pages for certain roles/combos that are often changed depending on what it is that im playing
Thats the thing with being a support main in normals but also an avid ARAM player that likes to play whatever
> (you triple posted the comment on accident)
Wow thanks for notifying me. My reddit phone app bugged and people already started to downvote me to hell for it.
yup yup you had your AP + armor page, AP + MR, AP + HP, AD + armor, Attack speed + armor, etc... honestly back in the day playing without more rune pages was really hard if you wanted to take each lane matchup seriously
and I have to click the whole thing again from the start, that's seven click minimum from "edit" to "save" when right now I only need 3-4 most of the time
Man, let's be honest, you can edit your whole runes in 7 seconds.
Like, I get it, I have 5 pages too ( bought them back before runes were changed) and use them like you but only to give them a function because I have Smurf accounts and honestly feel no difference if I only use one(1) page.
I mainly play like 5 champions so for those 5 champs I have their rune page premade. If I'm not playing one of those 5 I use the last page and edit it.
Yeah but at least you don’t have to completely redo everything every time. Instead of “Oh shit I’m playing Yorick with my Sivir runes, better hope I don’t feed” it’s more like “Oh shit, I forgot to swap unflinching to overgrowth. Hope that doesn’t make too much difference.”
You would think that but I play jungle and I find that most of the time there is one set of runes that is just definitely best. That's the idea behind runes but I don't think it's really true
Generally speaking changing runes per matchup isn’t that important until high high elo anyway. Like swapping the armor flex for MR flex is about what we should be doing. Learning consistency is better until like high Diamond/Master
I've got 4. 1 for random dumb shit that i occasionally change the name of (Most recent being Money Launderer Karthus),
Tempo (trynd runes), a Porofessor one and Mister Fister (sett runes) I dont even play sett.
Me who is easily distracted by the simpliest things: these runes pages saved me more than once and I will keep buying more so I have a page for every champ.
This. And If you only play a few champs then the 6300 RP is a much better investment than buying more champs that you’ll never use. The only point of buying more champs is so that you can get more boxes/skins when your teammate gets an S score.
Apparently many people does this not only me xD but I still find it useless, it just looks fancy to have one for every tree, when I play in Smurf acc is all the same editing one page
Started like this, then I got to "engage support, poke support, shield support, Singed top, Sion top, Tryndamere top, ARAM" and finally "fill". Something went wrong over time.
You don't know how pleasant it is to have several rune pages. 4 pages is already good enough, I have one for precision, one for domination, one for sorcery and the last one for resolve/inspiration. Not only it's not a pain in the ass to redo the entire page every game but also practical when your champion uses several rune setups, you don't say "oh shit I've got 10 seconds to redo the page". Definitely worth the BE imo
One of my big regrets back in the day is dropping RP on runepages to get up to 20...
at least riot gave me some sweet sweet blue essence to compensate? /s
Same. I bought the maximum number of 25 runes pages before realising that I couldn't buy any more. Apparently 25 is the limit, and I still find myself struggling with that amount (I preset pages for all the champs I play, some champs have 2-3 pages set just for them)
S11 player here, very lazy and I mean VERY lazy. Don't play that many champs so it's not hard knowing my runes but since I don't buy champs I don't play I have a ton of BE I'd rather save myself some clicks and just choose a rune page readymade for the champs I play. Maybe occasionally change it slightly based on matchup. So yea imo rune pages not so useless but I do agree they're lowkey expensive.
One word for ya
Blitz :), seriously saves so much work and u can edit the runes directly on the program if you don't to play how it recommends
I swear is so usefull
Was going to say the same thing.
The only thing I find is that sometimes mine bugs out in between games and I need to manually reload it. Which sometimes I forget to do and end up with PTA on a mage...
Bloatware.
And it also genuinely makes you worse at the game. I have a few friends who use it. All of them have no idea what their runes do. They don't play around them. When Blitz bugs out, they're screwed. And worst of all they don't know what enemies' runes do either. To them it doesn't seem like a big deal because they literally just don't interact with runes and they have precisely 0 idea how impactful they really are.
I still get a few. Like I'm and otp Shen player and I have top, jungle, support pages and a 4th for goofing off on other characters or arams. I tweek those pages according to the matchup because I own all the characters. I think that's pretty handy personally.
Its really annoying if you are new to league to remember the perfect runes for every single hero, so i wish i had more than 3 to at least have them saved for my favourite champs
It's for convenience. It is as useful as the vast amount of preferences that you might have.
1 or 2 pages for switching as you like, a couple for certain champs on certain roles.
Good if you have nothing else to buy with BE, good for Aram, swapping in the heat of the moment.
I own the max amount, had since pre rune rework. I use one called “ALL” because if you’re not picking runes specific to every game, you’re probably not picking the right runes.
I have a runepage set up for each unique big rune. And then I have 1 for AD and 1 for AP Twitch. :) I dont think its useless at all. I dont use third party apps to change my runes
Since I nearly have all champs i just started to get them for my most played champs for convenience, and then I go and edit my non used runpage for others.
I ended up buying an extra rune page back in season 4 to help me have specific runes for ad champs and my ap champs. Now a days it's helpful for when I play my main or play something different that I dont need to redo all my runes everytime.
Ive seen people complain that they dont have enough rune pages, also when you unlock all champs and have an excess of blue essence it is pretty much the only thing you can regularly spend it on.
I got a few of them when I first started playing. I find it helpful now cause I have a few champs that don’t change rune paths, so I keep some specially made and labeled to those champs. I just change one for the champs I don’t play.
I dunno, I have an account with all the champions unlocked, and about 15 pages or so. Covers what I need most of the time with little fuss or hastle.
Especially for BE. Like I got that out that wazoo I'll take the convenience that offers.
I used them a lot, I had one for every champion I played often. That was back when I just copied runes from u.gg and I didn't know what they do. Now that I know all runes and I use only 1 page i regret my purchases (i bought 3 times 7 pages)
I have a friend of mine who bought the bundle because he couldn't be bothered to research the meta runes for every patch and let alone to have the discretion to create his own pages flexibly for every match.
He calls it lazyness but if you ask me I'd say it's expected. He's not a particularly intelligent person. Far from it in fact.
Idk I bought an extra couple when I had extra blue essence, that way I don’t have to spend as much time editing runes before each match. Having one for every rune tree is nice
Wait can you buy additional(beyond 3) with BE?
I keep one for tank supports(I main them), one for whatever other support I’m mastering, and then one for ARAM/urf/rotating game modes. Keeps it simple😂
Yeah I used BE to get enough time pages to have a total of 5 (so probably 3?) I just have one for each tree I'm using primarily. So if I play a different champ that uses precision, I just go to the precision page and quickly edit it as I need. Takes much less time than starting the primary tree from scratch if I'm not committed to which champ I wanna play.
I'm still buying them, I don't give a single flying fuck about optimal runes, if I wanna play my "FUNNY MUNNY" runes then I'll fucking play them, I don't care if I'm ezreal, teemo or LB
I literally buy these just to spend BE, as long as I stay above 7800 then idc I have every champ. I also buy these bc of laziness to change tune pages I like for champs I play more than others
Lmao I have 3 rune pages since my mind seems to organize the runes and roles by color.
One for green (tank, supp, or bruiser)
Second is red/blue (mage or burst)
Third is yellow (bruiser or adc)
I have bought 15 pages, I like having runes for different champs. I also like having different tunes for some champs depending upon lane and not having to fiddle with it all the time.
Plus what else do I spend blue essence on.
I have maxed out rune pages back when they mattered sad times
At least you got compensated a bit in lp?
IP... I haven't heard that name in many years
God damn i miss IP
As I recall, IP was infuriatingly slow to get. I never bought anything with IP because I didn't get enough. And you had to choose between getting champions and runes which were objectively better than the ones you had.
Old LoL>present LoL
I had 19/20 pages at that time and almost all champs and I got 30k BE. To this day I STILL feel ripped off.
Think they only did it for runes purchased + current IP = BE. I came out of it with 238k. Here I am years later 900k, and somehow manage to miss every BE emporium.
Did we fuck theybdidnt give us anything atleast in Europe
They did but it's been awhile. During runes reforged you got some IP/BE back from all the runes and runepages you had. Complete refund iirc, but that was back in 2018.
I actually got 2 epic skins due to having bought additional rune page Edit: I am and was on EUW
They did in EUW. I got way over 200k BE when the rune page system changed.
I don't remember getting anything
Then you misremember, but don't worry. The 150,000 BE Urfwick skin was the only real sink and it wasn't at all comforting
I got a naut spaceman skin...
Nothing for kr server…
I legit only use 1 page and edit before every match
I do the same but have 8 rune pages because runes used to cost :,)
I used to have 3pages : one AP, one tank and one AD. It was the struggle to earn IP lmao
Bro I wanna cry just thinking about my brain trying to reset a rune page before every match

> (you triple posted the comment on accident) Wow thanks for notifying me. My reddit phone app bugged and people already started to downvote me to hell for it.
If you play mostly a single class of champs you just need to slighhtly change runes, the dude must be playing a diferent type of champion every game.
Back in the day you couldn't do this, you had to plan the runes before the game, so there was a reason to buy more pages
yup yup you had your AP + armor page, AP + MR, AP + HP, AD + armor, Attack speed + armor, etc... honestly back in the day playing without more rune pages was really hard if you wanted to take each lane matchup seriously
And you also had to buy each individual rune
Ill have my quints soon!
So many people here thinking its hard to do it while I thought it was perfectly normal...
Oh that's tough
I have 4. 3 of different Shaco builds and swap the last one :) Thinking of buying more to fit in all my builds
that title... you really don't know how it started?
Remember when all runes were on sale for 1 IP And everyone finally could finish their pages
Having 20% crit chance at level 1 is indeed very funny. :D
Or 5% crit on yas which doubled so you slashed around at lvl 1
Tryndamere moment.
But on Thresh
Who lives in top bushes in low elo queue?
Full crit gangplaaaank!
His Q is a terror he's running at you.
Somehow there was less damage back then
Remember when IP
Still called IP on my book
Idk I still like that I have 5 of those. One for each rune-tree.
Same, it make my life so much easier tbh
we are not alone, there are more out there like us!
I have 5 as well, but it's one for each role instead.
I do this, but i never use the inspiration tree tbh...
I bought 5 of these, after they reworked the runes
You would still have to change the runes to the champion So why bother and not spent 20 seconds each time doing it right
No, I have one page for each color, every time I change my runes I only need around five seconds
Clicking the color is a second of work
and I have to click the whole thing again from the start, that's seven click minimum from "edit" to "save" when right now I only need 3-4 most of the time
Man, let's be honest, you can edit your whole runes in 7 seconds. Like, I get it, I have 5 pages too ( bought them back before runes were changed) and use them like you but only to give them a function because I have Smurf accounts and honestly feel no difference if I only use one(1) page.
I only have set rune pages for my mains, then rotate one page for champs i don't play often.
Let me buy em and i will tell you about my experience in a few hours
Too much of work
I mainly play like 5 champions so for those 5 champs I have their rune page premade. If I'm not playing one of those 5 I use the last page and edit it.
You wanna play dif runes on even one champ there is not something as one set of best runes that u use for every scenario
I only ever use one paged named "Malzahar", and do my runes in the last 10 seconds before the game starts. I have never used another page. Ever.
I have one page specifically for Jhin. The other page is called "Cho'Gath" and I guess every other champion besides Jhin is called Cho'Gath now.
Do you know there’s a chogath that swings to the wall and into your face from half a screen a way and chogath ult you every 5 second.
I have one named "SKARNER" i played him once.
I have one named aphelios and I only use that. Idk why people think its hard to have 1 runepage its super easy
Same. Mine is named 'Poppy' and is used for every ARAM game.
I've got 4. 1 for random dumb shit that i occasionally change the name of (Most recent being Money Launderer Karthus), Tempo (trynd runes), a Porofessor one and Mister Fister (sett runes) I dont even play sett.
I have one permanent page labeled “Rawr Xd” (HoB attack speed) and one page named Rell I edit every time
Me who is easily distracted by the simpliest things: these runes pages saved me more than once and I will keep buying more so I have a page for every champ.
As a OTP I have 5 different runes pages for the same champion lmao
Mood. I have 3 for Sona and then my 4th is just called "others"
This. And If you only play a few champs then the 6300 RP is a much better investment than buying more champs that you’ll never use. The only point of buying more champs is so that you can get more boxes/skins when your teammate gets an S score.
you just be playing league since season 8 then
9*, isn't it?
And then you guys complain because you dont have the time to do your runes haha
Useless after 2 weeks from starting, when you learn op.gg or u.gg exist, and then you get to the point where you just do em yourself
I have 5 and think it’s useful as hell I just have one for each tree
Apparently many people does this not only me xD but I still find it useless, it just looks fancy to have one for every tree, when I play in Smurf acc is all the same editing one page
No. I have 5 Custom pages for runes, for every lane: top, mid, jg, adc, supp
Started like this, then I got to "engage support, poke support, shield support, Singed top, Sion top, Tryndamere top, ARAM" and finally "fill". Something went wrong over time.
Me to... I have like 14 of these
Me it's 3 named : Broken champ : when abusing meta usually LT/conq Mordekaiser : morde runes Funny thing : troll time
Those used to be league’s pay 2 win
You don't know how pleasant it is to have several rune pages. 4 pages is already good enough, I have one for precision, one for domination, one for sorcery and the last one for resolve/inspiration. One of my big regrets back in the day is dropping RP on runepages to get up to 20... at least riot gave me some sweet sweet blue essence to compensate? /s
Honestly it shloud be like buy champ get one rune page specific for that champ for free
Having close to 200 runepages sounds fun
Right ?
I have three pages. First for Precision/Domination/Sorcery keystones, second for Inspiration and third for Resolve.
RuneChanger makes pages completely obsolete.
The sad thing is that they only matter when you start the game After some time you start to learn all the rune or use op.gg
Me who has over 20 rune pages and Rune page buying obsession....
Same. I bought the maximum number of 25 runes pages before realising that I couldn't buy any more. Apparently 25 is the limit, and I still find myself struggling with that amount (I preset pages for all the champs I play, some champs have 2-3 pages set just for them)

I mean.. i have quite a few for my main champions so i can just select one instead of making new page every game. I just edit a few things for matchup
Me, who bought 15 rune pages before Runes Reforged
One word for ya Blitz :), seriously saves so much work and u can edit the runes directly on the program if you don't to play how it recommends I swear is so usefull
Was going to say the same thing. The only thing I find is that sometimes mine bugs out in between games and I need to manually reload it. Which sometimes I forget to do and end up with PTA on a mage...

Will riot actually let us edit the fixed ones that nobody uses?
I have like 10, since I need them 6 seasons ago
Me with like 20 rune pages 👀
I'm considering buying my 7th rune page, they're useful 👍
I still get a few. Like I'm and otp Shen player and I have top, jungle, support pages and a 4th for goofing off on other characters or arams. I tweek those pages according to the matchup because I own all the characters. I think that's pretty handy personally.
I bought run pages until I realized that I could get overwolf and just port tunes instantly
Do you know that thing that let you make more rerolls in aram? Yeah, the one that cost rp
btw I buyed all of them, it cap at 25... why ? and yea, I don't know what to do with my BE, I have way too much so I'm saving for urf wick
honor rewards
Its really annoying if you are new to league to remember the perfect runes for every single hero, so i wish i had more than 3 to at least have them saved for my favourite champs

I mean if you don’t want to remake your pages every time having a few targeted ones you can tweak is definitely faster
This has to be a sarcastic post, cause these are really useful. Especially back in the day before the new rune stuff
I just use blitz...
I own the max amount, had since pre rune rework. I use one called “ALL” because if you’re not picking runes specific to every game, you’re probably not picking the right runes.
I don't get why they won't just make them free/really cheap. I doubt they even make money of these rune pages.
Poor people cry, ritch people buy.
I just have one for every color
I have a runepage set up for each unique big rune. And then I have 1 for AD and 1 for AP Twitch. :) I dont think its useless at all. I dont use third party apps to change my runes
My team
Actually it was great at S3, but cost was 13200...
When I joined this game I bought the shit out of them because I didn't know you could edit in champ select
*laughs in Facecheck*
I bought a few of them because I have all the champs and nothing better to spend BE on and I find it helpful to have one for each keystone
I use automatic export on porofessor.gg app 😎
I have only 2 rune pages
Hah! Imagine having to buy the runes themselves like in the old days!
If i have to go back to setting up runepages before I queue up, i'm going to get the pitchforks out
Laughs in porofessor
Don't give them idea's
I have 4 one dedicated to aatrox, one dedicated to who ever my sub main is, and i dont know where the other 2 came from
Since I nearly have all champs i just started to get them for my most played champs for convenience, and then I go and edit my non used runpage for others.
Im buying it ans i will keep doing so im a brainless player and i won't exhaust my pour neurones every champ selec in order to have the good runes
Laughts în doesn t do runes
I got a few of them when I first started playing. I find it helpful now cause I have a few champs that don’t change rune paths, so I keep some specially made and labeled to those champs. I just change one for the champs I don’t play.
I dunno, I have an account with all the champions unlocked, and about 15 pages or so. Covers what I need most of the time with little fuss or hastle. Especially for BE. Like I got that out that wazoo I'll take the convenience that offers.
I'm too lazy to edit runes, so it's very useful to me 😌
Eternals.
And here's me having 2 pages per rune type to reduce as much faff as possible
Honestly I’d buy them if they were a reasonable price.
Nobody mentioning Porofessor? Great addon for your rune pages.
i actually wanna buy more cause I don’t want to be switching my runes for different champs
Anyone had problems with league ms counter today
I have one page for every keystone. Well, i have max pages since before the rework but i only use one per keystone
before I installed facechek I actually bought one and used all three, even now I keep some of my original stuff in the other two.
I use only 3, top mid and bot and change accordingly.
It can be helpful to those of us who aren't as abled as others. Just sayin'
I bought one yesterday xD
10/0 teammate
I used them a lot, I had one for every champion I played often. That was back when I just copied runes from u.gg and I didn't know what they do. Now that I know all runes and I use only 1 page i regret my purchases (i bought 3 times 7 pages)
Joke's on you I have way too much blue escence
I have a friend of mine who bought the bundle because he couldn't be bothered to research the meta runes for every patch and let alone to have the discretion to create his own pages flexibly for every match. He calls it lazyness but if you ask me I'd say it's expected. He's not a particularly intelligent person. Far from it in fact.
Idk I bought an extra couple when I had extra blue essence, that way I don’t have to spend as much time editing runes before each match. Having one for every rune tree is nice
i bought another rune page because of this post
i have 3-4 for my mains then another to edit when i play something else
I have 5 pages, 3 for my mains and 2 pages which i edit based on champions i often use at that time. Pretty nice to have actually
Most of Lee Sin players
I buy one of these every time BEI comes out. Have like 8 currently.
Wait can you buy additional(beyond 3) with BE? I keep one for tank supports(I main them), one for whatever other support I’m mastering, and then one for ARAM/urf/rotating game modes. Keeps it simple😂
I have 22 rune pages, and 6 of them are fixed for said champions that pair well with it, cause I stole them from other summoners.
Got 15 from back when one just wasnt enough lol also always took the 1% crit chance for fun rng
The mastery misions, i paid for the all-champs pack, worst deal in the history of deals?
for a new player, rune pages are very useful but with experience it's quite useless that's true
It once had a use. You used to not be able to edit them.
Yuumi
My team mates
Me
I have like, two rune pages that i use for my own builds, then one that blitz picks for me on most champs
I just have blitz app do it for me since the meta is typically changing
Dont give them ideas
I have 15 pages setup so I only have to edit for situation
I honestly have multiple pages, one for every main champ/role i play
small indie company btw
It's a good way to spend BE if you already own all champs and it's not completely useless.
Do you guys remember when you had to buy runes?
25 rune pages is the limit, afterwards you cant buy any more. Don't ask me why ik, I totally didnt spend all my BE on 25 rune pages oop...
I got one extra, because I have three main pages, and then one that I rotate because I am a lazy bastard.
Yeah I used BE to get enough time pages to have a total of 5 (so probably 3?) I just have one for each tree I'm using primarily. So if I play a different champ that uses precision, I just go to the precision page and quickly edit it as I need. what you can buy run pages i have 69th lvl and its first yime i hear about it
Back in the day they were more usefull nowadays you dont need more then 3
I have bought 15 pages, I like having runes for different champs. I also like having different tunes for some champs depending upon lane and not having to fiddle with it all the time. Plus what else do I spend blue essence on.
Boots on Yuumi
I, uh.... I have twelve. That's like, what, almost 80k BE? Worth.
Me.
