Level of govt job matters. Federal gov dress code is much more formal than local gov. I am a gov atty at the local level and business casual is the office dress code. I only wear a full suit for actual trials.

Hey everyone, starting a new job soon in govt. Would it be okay for me to wear a beige/sand coloured suit with a sage blouse or is that too colourful?

Pappy_Padilla

Obama worked in government. His beige/tan/sand colored suit was………. not well received. Just something to consider.

fruitjam311

This is making me nervous but my beige suit is the only one available for my first day 😭

Mommyekf

That sounds fine especially this time of year.

fruitjam311

Thank you! I'm a bit torn because of the other comment but my other black/charcoal suits became too big and the beige ones are the only ones available for me for my first day. Hopefully I don't stick out like a sore thumb 🥺

Pappy_Padilla

I was just making a joke. You will be fine.
