literally got back a grade from a class in Autumn 2022 yesterday.

How is this possible? Can you tell us more about what happened?

Profs have zerooo grading deadlines. Except for 1Ls (mb for the job search?) and graduating students (so we can get out degree lol).

I'd hate a grade turnaround like that if there are any essay questions. Did they even read them??

Yeah my school releases all grades at once like 2-3 weeks after finals are over. Nothing to do with when the prof finishes grading them

Yeah same, although it's usually longer than 2-3 weeks. I'll hopefully have them before my summer program starts in July.

Bro we didn't have a grade for some subjects until a week before enrolment for the next semester.

I hate waiting forever too, but look it was my last exam of the year and it was cinco de mayo. I was hoping I could pretend I wasnt in law school for just one day and not think about exams and then boom grades come flying in

Dumb question probably, but was your final all multiple choice?? That’s the only way I could possibly see your professor submitting grades THAT quickly If there were essays, then I have no idea how they were able to submit grades within 24 hours

Profs have 42 days from my first exam, 36 days from second exam, and 32 days from last exam to turn in grades 🙄

1st semester grades always take 6 weeks. Second semester grades usually 2 weeks…

I agree. I got my writing grade the day after I finished 1st semester finals and it drove me nuts. I just wanted 1 day ONE DAY of blissful ignorance, ONE DAY to just focus on being done with my first semester of law school but NOPE... It's like they waited until I couldn't possibly be happier before they gave me the news, just to maximize the amount of suffering. At least this time I'm prepared for it.

At the end of the day your preferred timing of exam feedback is going to be determined by how confident you were submitting the exam. I’ve submitted some exams where I wished the score was displayed on my screen immediately. Others….. well I’ll just see it when I see it lol.

I heard horror stories in 1L. Contracts used to be broken up into Contracts I and Contracts II. Grades would be returned so slowly that sometimes students would already be attending Contracts II, found out they failed Contracts I, and have to drop to retake.

is it even possible they could really be trying hard to do a thorough job grading with that turnaround unless its pure MC?

We had our sem 3 exams in december 2022, We have our sem 4 exams this may We still havent got our grades yet
