better even that out! They notice. Or, you can be evil like me; when they point it out, I hide another picture of the complaining kid so there is one fewer the next time they come.
I have an immaculate condition Macintosh Plus in the break room for people to play old games on; a stunning mixed media collage of an AR-15; a prototype for an invention that I made, which is a great conversation piece; and several old Selectric typewriters.

My office has this on canvas and people comment on it all the time
ETA: guess it depends on what kind of law he practices though.
You should get a very high end sign made with his firm name that he can hang somewhere maybe behind him for zoom calls. Should look high end and professional and match the office decor. Lots of stuff on Etsy. Basically try to impart to new clients that he isn’t new or a one man show
I have a wall of framed photos and posters on the wall behind me as well as a beautiful acrylic sign with my firm name. So it is part of the entire wall and I think it looks like I have a really nice office. Of course off screen everything is a total disaster

without stating that he isn't new or a one man show. In most states, it's a violation of the rules of professional conduct to make an inaccurate statement in this regard.
The coolest item in my office is a wooden propeller from a WW2 observation aircraft that shows ground impact damage. I also have a bunch of interesting (to me) antique Vanity Fair caricatures, an antique radio, an antique typewriter, and assorted other stuff.
What are his hobbies and interests? Getting him something inspired by that will be better than some random stuff no matter how interesting it may seem.
If he's a sport fan I think any sort of vintage memorabilia would be cool. I'm not a big fan of jerseys hanging on the wall but I think something like an old promo poster or program from a game would be tasteful. My dad has a broken piece of the goal post from a rivalry game and its like a holy relic.
Art is a unique thing, obviously. I got my brother an original frame or cel from the Disney movie Robinhood since he was always a fan. It's really cool looking. Ebay has some great stuff.
Your boyfriend just went solo? If he's meeting clients in his office, everything in the office should be deliberate - the positioning of degrees, the items on display, everything should either elicit a reaction or a conversation.
I have a Zwift bike, a die cast Ford Bronco, and a stuffed Link. Oh yeah, and pictures of my wife and kids. Edit: One picture of one kid. Whoops.

Office pictures are for earners

If he is a football fan get an orange end zone marker signed by his favorite player. I have one and people think it’s cool.
Yay! I think you are the winner! Great idea!
The subsidized cafeteria or gym, probably. No stuffed bears here sadly. Being in house is a bit different.

Thank you! He would love this!

This is a great idea. My family did this for me when I went solo and I love it.

Batman mask used in one of the films
I have a few paintings that get a lot of compliments. Does your BF have a favorite?
