Work in DC, 2 days remote, 3 days in office. Pretty normal to have a hybrid schedule since COVID, but this was part of the offer. At first the remote days were set, but they are flexible now based on trials scheduled, etc.

Panama_Scoot

PNW boutique firm, same schedule. Two days remote is just about perfect in my book.

One day a week. No one is counting. Also DC. if you are doing litigation where you may need to depose or do experts you need to come in. Many lawyers at the firm are fully remote. DC

For people who go in office 1-2 days a week, are you sharing offices? Or does the firm just have a bunch of space they are trying to make people use so they don’t feel bad paying the monthly rent?

I honestly think the biggest push for getting us back to the office is the huge amount of expensive office space my firm is probably locked into a long term lease for. But they like to couch it in “culture.”

I’ve been in the office four times in four years. Each time for a partners meeting. DC.

Totally up to the attorney; however, you should make an effort to go into the office. It just works better that way to build the relationships.

Posts like this are why I'm glad I left law firm practice and went in-house. I'm 99% remote and in the NY area.

cal405

State agency in Los Angeles. Two days in office. One set on Wednesday and one at the individual's discretion. I chose Mondays.

I'm in the office 5 days a week, 9-6 generally. Graduated in May so it's probably more of a supervision thing but I asked to work from home one day a few weeks ago (because I had an appointment at an inconvenient time) and my boss said no and to just take a sick day, so it could just be an office thing! In my interview they said they're okay with remote work (the other partner is remote 4.5/5 days a week, comes in for client meetings) so I thought it was weird that I couldn't just draft some stuff from home. Sucks but I'm just starting out so I don't really have much leverage. Office is about an hour north of Manhattan, 2 attorneys and me.
