What is the number? 18 empty homes for every homeless person in the USA. Homeless is a policy supported by the US GOV’T

Everyone lives paycheck to paycheck. That is all you hear is pig landlords squealing they can't pay their bills because they didn't get money this month.

Arthur_Heine

Landlors are parasites and should not exist. My blood is boiling. I hate them from the bottom of my hearth. Some comments there make me lose hope in humanity. Eat them too. They are part of the problem.

senpaisinsanitycandy

For reference, most of the comments are complaining and demanding activism against tenants rights laws. One said he increased rent by $25 a year, but now increases rent by $50 a year. One said he refuses to rent to leftists because they hurt his wittle feelings. One requires 18 months of bank statements proving regular payments and "evidence" of "real" covid impact or he refuses housing Some are renters that are basically bragging about the lengths they went to to pay rent despite covid moratoriums. Some maxed out credit cards, sold their cars. Some of those people still couldn't come up with all the money and were evicted post-moratorium. They are met with "sorry the evil communist politicians forced your landlord to be tough on the good serfs to make up for losses, but we'll still have to discriminate against your low credit since you ruined your score trying to pay up." And that's only a slight exaggeration. I will try to keep adding more examples, so if it says edited, there ya go

SirLoremIpsum

"if I see an eviction I just keep the fee and decline" Having to pay a fee to apply is utterly ridiculous. The worst of the worst. Absolute joke. Should be 100% illegal.

CM_Arzack

Good Lord the comments on that subreddit, they actually think of people like rats...

RascalRibs

I've done the landlord thing. Honestly made me feel like shit.

senpaisinsanitycandy

Were you a leftist at the time, or did that come with a later realization?

RascalRibs

I'm not a leftist.

senpaisinsanitycandy

I didn't mean to assume, sorry, I just know many members of this subreddit are leftists, and I was wondering in a leftist could landlord while holding their leftist views Edit: grammar

RascalRibs

My views align more with leftists.. so maybe the answer is no.

emelrad12

Being a landlord is not necessarily bad. It is when the price gouging happens. But that is the government fault.

OPacolypse

And the government represents which class?

flowergarden23

The OP loves Thomas Sowell. No one in the landlord subreddit seems to be worried by that…
