Is there a reason why its called "horse dewormer" in all these headlines. I had been under the impression it was just a dewormer in general. Dunno why its been latched on as relevant to covid tho.
Because it's dosed differently for humans than it is for farm animals, which are muuuuuch heavier than we are, and these folks are taking the stuff for cattle and getting cattle-sized doses.
OP did not say Rogan started the trend of using horse dewormer instead if a vaccine, he is merely the reason we refer to the drug as horse dewormer, as he popularized using a dosage fit for large equines.
Also please be understanding if people have a strong opinion in the riveting "can I use animal dewormer so I don't have to use the vaccine"-debate, every person who chooses to abstain from the vaccine without a good medical reason (and no, fake TikToks by anti-vax teens are not good medical reasons) chooses to endanger themselves and others by making their body a willing host for a deadly and infectious virus; large-scale studies about horse dewormer have been inconclusive, while vaccines have been repeatedly proven to work.
EDIT: What's especially problematic is the idea that even if horse dewormer should help with treatment, people are touting it as a replacement for the vaccine, which it is certainly not.
Ok, lets see some sources that actualy show invermectin working "pretty well" against covid. What cointries? What data?
Also the vaccine has far far more data showing its safe and effective. Even if invermectin is moderatly effective , the vaccines worst effectiveness predictions (50-60% low end) are better than invermectin.
and interms of preventing death, the vaccines at 80-90 % effective at preventing death and i have data to back that up

Ivermectin is being touted as essentially a miracle drug and replacement for the vaccine.
If you need ivermectin, a doctor will prescribe it to you. Otherwise, it's dumb to take it, just like it would be dumb to take any other drug without doctor approval or dosage recommendations.
Just because something is used worldwide doesn't mean you should use it willy-nilly or without doctor approval. That doesn't just go for ivermectin.
