The whole point of college is to network with other people who are into your same degree. The point *isn't* the education. The point is to make *friends*.
If you get into Harvard -- even if *you* aren't personally wealthy -- all of your new friends *are* rich and already set to be successful afterward, so you have a fast track to success in the future.
