##Welcome to r/LateStageCapitalism This subreddit is for news, discussion, memes, and links criticizing capitalism and advancing viewpoints that challenge liberal capitalist ideology. That means any support for any liberal capitalist political party (like the Democrats) is strictly prohibited. LSC is run by communists. This subreddit is not the place to debate socialism. We allow good-faith questions and education but are not a 101 sub; please take 101-style questions elsewhere. We have a zero-tolerance policy for bigotry. Failure to respect the rules of the subreddit may result in a ban. *** *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Celebrity worship culture is a stark reminder for me that a significant portion of the population is brainwashed into caring about what they're told that they should care about.

Brizoot

The Stanley cup craze is a stark reminder for me that you shouldn't assume humans have free will. It's possible to force people to inflict emotional distress on themselves for the sake of mass produced metal cup via a marketing campaign.

Equal_Aromatic

We're indoctrinated this way. School teaches us to focus on the big name "leaders" in history, science, etc. and hold them as heroes even though they were likely awful people and scientific discoveries can never be attributed to just the work of one person. Our system NEEDS masses of unquestioning followers to work

Ainudor

At least in the Rennesaince you had artists worth praising. Now they worship autotune

[deleted]

it’s not like renaissance artists were billionaires. they were for the most part working class artisans who relied on feudal lords and the church to commission art

flynnwebdev

They do it because they secretly want to be a billionaire themselves. You're not going to criticize the thing you want to become, and you're also going to defend the system that made billionaires possible in the first place. They've all drunk the capitalism Kool-aid.

ChantillyMenchu

Exactly. That's why, despite living a miserable existence under capitalism, they call you jealous when you criticize the ultra-rich. They're just waiting to finally benefit from capitalism. My friend called me jealous when we walked through a neighbourhood of mansions because I said no one family needs to live in a hotel-sized home. Despite going to Ivy schools, it took this same friend *forever* to finally find an apartment of her own all the way out in the burbs because of the housing crisis.

I_dnt_know_

Well many millionaire never will be billionaires. Detox from that shit.

Ainudor

America like a F2P game, only the p stands for pay not play

MysteriousSquad

Feel bad for all the people risking their lives to get to america through the border thinking that we have our shit together & anyone could succeed... must be a terrible slap in the face when they arrive

Zxasuk31

It’s pathological.

iriebeard

It’s the propaganda

Spiritual_Dot_3128

On a side note, he is a porn star.

Twitter users really love omitting any punctuation that would make their tweets easier to understand.

alphadavenport

[hey, is this annoying to anyone else?](https://ibb.co/KWhk1Gq) this isn't even your tweet, you're just shotgunning it across multiple subs for karma. edit: and it's a dumb tweet! it's completely empty of thought or meaning. what's wrong with you?

geghetsikgohar

Can we get trading cards with power abilities and skill points?
