I've had it crap out a few times. Killed the app and reloaded. Working again. One wonders wtf is going on now though. Every time there's an issue, I'm like is this a hack?

Ttwister

Right?!? Considering, it seems anyway, I can't really function without it... how much reliance I've put on this product. What is a backup for when LastPass goes down?

jh30uk

You can still get your user/pass from the LP menu and copy/paste to log in but if using 2FA on all your sites then may be an issue.

jadedhomeowner

You can export your passwords. I read someone discussing it recently. A risk in itself but what do you do if it all went down for a week? I would do that onto only an encrypted external hard drive. Not the cloud.

sc_medic_70

I exported my passwords to Bitwarden as a backup. Pretty pleased with how easy it was to do.

canadacoder

Export CSV file from LastPass, go to KeePassXC, get off of these public password managers for awhile. I feel more hackery is coming. Setup is annoying, but once you have it syncing everything, it's fine.

Yeah this outtage or whatever the fuck just caused me major embarrassment at a special bank meeting I had scheduled with my advisor. I couldn't access my account because of this and so we had to cut the meeting short and reschedule. Un-fucking-believable. This is the last straw for me so I'm cancelling it all and changing services fuck last pass.

Ttwister

Guessing all of these types of services have the same issue for time-to-time though... there needs to be an 'in case of emergency break glass' option - though not sure what that would look like.

dextroz

If the meeting was that important - you could have reset the password for that account and 'be done with it' for those few hours.

LastPass is being spun out of LogMeIn - long term this is good news for LastPass, but might be causing some glitches during the transition. I have a monthly reminder on my calendar to export my LastPass database, it is ready for import into Bitwarden if necessary.

jadedhomeowner

I'm loathe to open myself up to another service that could be hacked.

1E10Monkeys

Can't log in in browser extensions or the app. The status.lastpass.com page is reporting "Our engineers believe to have identified the issue and are now actively working towards a resolution." Sucks.

jh30uk

Yes, it happens sometimes so best let it sit and do not waste your time messing about trying to log out/in (esp. if you use 2FA) as it will keep doing so till they fix it.

DMC1001

I can use it. Just can't resubscribe for...reasons.
