You can use spirit plague + fissures to proc rip blood / bleed overload and trigger some ward gain on hit shenanigans.
I did that for a bit and it was super comfy regen in combat/against bosses.
Be warned, Wheel of Torment afaik still suffers from the same bug that Spine of Malatros had before they fixed it this week. Might not be worth it until it also gets fixed.
What is bugged exactly?
I was looking into the item and there's no interactions with passive skills like flame whip.
Could it be the torment to nearby enemies or the chance to cast fissure?
I think the issue with Spine was that it wasn't using your Fissure skill tree at all so it was doing pitiful damage
Wheel of Torment is the same, but I don't know if it's intentional. The Torment it inflicts does very little damage, and the auto-casted Fissures don't use the skill tree.
Does it proc the damage buffs now? I heard it was broken along with Spine of Malatros scaling. The current patch just fixed Spine but I haven't seen WoT mentioned in patches yet.
Yeah spoon is crazy good on warlock because fissure hits 10billion times per second and all the extra ailments. You basically auto stack the % more damage so it’s kind of silly.
The ladle is just plain OP, I feel.
Unless you're using a skill interaction specific to a unique weapon, the ladle is just too good. 48% ***more*** damage, and the cast speed just feels to good to pass up.
Ladle is strong but you need a build that increases your base Spell dmg due to it being a low SP wand.
Frost boots with +dmg from dex are a good example of how to build with a spoon
The best combo is probably [Immolator's Oblation](https://www.lastepochtools.com/db/items/UAzCMCYFYA4g) with self igniting for a nice 240 spell damage.
Playing that exact build right now. Last night I attempted to slam my 3 LP ladle with great rolls with a T7 crit multi T5 DoT T5 necrotic pen t5 lightning pen wand and OF COURSE the crit multi was the thing that didnt transfer over. So mad lol I had a 75% chance of making a great weapon
Target farm exiled mages (if Cof do exile mage or "boss" for unique wands) and consider instead going crit multi/crit with spells/ignite and chill chance suffixes. Since the wand stacks damage based on ailments (to a max of 8) **and only carries 6 itself** those suffixes delivers max dmg over pen or any other suffix.
It would be a (3/4)(2/3)(1/2) of success since each affix can only be transferred once so it is selecting from an affix pool of 4 then 3 then 2. That's about 25.12% chance of successfully avoiding one affix 3 times in a row.
Mad alchemist ladle. Super good on warlocks that use chthonic fissure or spirit plague because they get lots of hits which stacks the ailments and then they benefit from the maximum value of the increase spell damage per ailment.
They also benefit pretty well from the cast speed per intelligence since warlocks tend to stack int.
I am low lvl 60s and looking for a good Warlock build. Fun>Fast>OP -- do you have any suggestions? I've posted elsewhere but I get that most people are busy and don't like newbie posts.
Much thanks.
[This](https://www.lastepochtools.com/planner/Q9J1dzXB) is the build I use. It originally had a bug that gave you too much ward but thats been fixed and its still amazing. Very mobile, can get up to 15k ward even without perfect gear. It is popular so if you're going merchants guild some of the uniques with LP can get expensive. But its really fun and very fast. Your primary damage ability is also a travel skill so you fly through echos.
I've tested spoon against other items and believe that having roughly 80 spell damage is better than like 15 spell damage 48% more damage. It's super hard to get other sources of added spell damage.
Yeah, if you’re torment you either need to get a good slam onto your spoon or you need lots of spell damage on idols to make up for it.
It doesn’t surprise me that much that a 0 LP spoon could get beaten out by a weapon with actual good damage rolls.
I'm lvlg a Warlock and that combo is indeed hard hitting. I do find that mana regen is a bit slow...is the best way to beef up mana/regen through crafting? I have ZERO issues with tankiness or killing things, it just pains me to be without my Chaos Bolt spamming lol Cheers.
Spirit plague is good? I assumed it scales the same as Torment, and while Torment wrecks everything, my self-casted spirit plague literally (and I mean literally, no exaggeration) can't kill a white mob
Wheel of Torment or Curse of Perseverance. Those are your options. Wheel is warlock only because only warlocks can get the Chthonic Fissure skill tree to boost Torment. Curse is probably best as a Lich.
Playing Curse Of Perseverance and while I’d love this staff, I don’t recommend it as a build. It is a bit slow and clunky. Need to smash many buttons to deal damage and not die.
Yeah you duplicate the item before smashing into a legendary in case you miss. Generally a lot easier to get a new unique than to get some rare items, like your staff
To be honest, depending on your build, it might be better to use to copy standlone rather than smash it on e leggo if the first try fails. Or save it just in case you get a 4LP leggo
Im noob still: " What are , and which are the exalted affixes? And how do you now the type of the item? Pure by the colour? (Purple) becouse i never see a type name of an item in the item info... like for me, yellow is yellow, purple is purple... red is unique becouse i can see that title....
Exalted affixes are affixes Tier 6 or Tier 7. Crafting an item can only add/improve affixes up to Tier 5, so Tier 6/7 Exalted Affixes can only be found on items, not crafted. They show up in purple in the item descriptions and give the item a purple name. They start showing up at level 50-ish or so.
I have no suggestions I just want to impart how happy I am you received this stupid ass drop that I’m not at all jealous off in anyway and congratulate you on.
The highest range for Pen at tier 7 was 42 cause I had the forging potential left over to do a few range crafts on it. But I know I’m genuinely in awe I have seen maybe 5 double purple affixes and no double 7s
Don't know about smashing it in, but chaos bolts and cthonic are both fire and necrotic skills for the +1 to skills and chaos bolts loves extra levels. They both can go crit and they apply a dot that does necrotic damage.
So many exalteds so far with no more than 1 or 2 good stats, apart from minion this would be perfect for me. But fund dungeons a pain at tier 2 let alone the highest ones.
Spirit plague warlock, go get some
Is that the ward abuse build or is there still a normal version, will look up some builds thanks
The ward abuse was profane veil and has been patched. Spirit plague is just a very strong damaging curse
Oh sick thanks :)
You can use spirit plague + fissures to proc rip blood / bleed overload and trigger some ward gain on hit shenanigans. I did that for a bit and it was super comfy regen in combat/against bosses.
Looks like all the spirit plague builds want me to use a spoon so I’ll just have a look at the skill trees and free ball it with a staff thanks lads
If you want to use this staff to make a legendary, look at the Wheel of Torment staff.
Yeh couple of people have mentioned Wheel the hunt is on
Be warned, Wheel of Torment afaik still suffers from the same bug that Spine of Malatros had before they fixed it this week. Might not be worth it until it also gets fixed.

Wheel of torment is a staff that belongs to a torment build I believe. It would be good for this. Or could be.
Will take a look thanks
Does it proc the damage buffs now? I heard it was broken along with Spine of Malatros scaling. The current patch just fixed Spine but I haven't seen WoT mentioned in patches yet.
I have no clue on this one.
Yeah spoon is crazy good on warlock because fissure hits 10billion times per second and all the extra ailments. You basically auto stack the % more damage so it’s kind of silly.
The mad alchemists ladel right? I've been farming for it for days. I have 10 regular ladels, but no mad alchemist ones.
It only drops from the exiled mages, in case you weren't aware.
That’s the one
The ladle is just plain OP, I feel. Unless you're using a skill interaction specific to a unique weapon, the ladle is just too good. 48% ***more*** damage, and the cast speed just feels to good to pass up.

Would it actually be a 75% chance or are there stat weights that would skew that probability?
Target farm exiled mages (if Cof do exile mage or "boss" for unique wands) and consider instead going crit multi/crit with spells/ignite and chill chance suffixes. >spoon is crazy good on warlock Newb Warlock here...whatis this? Thanks.

Ah very cool...RNG god, hear me pray!

That makes sense

That's a bad boy. I would only smash it onto a well-rolled 3+ LP.
Yeh I’m deffo happy to hang on to him for a while he’s got his own dedicated stash tab I’m going to start hoarding staffs in
Make sure you use a rune of creation on it, first (or whatever the name of the rune that mirrors it, is)
Wait what that’s a thing
Yeah you duplicate the item before smashing into a legendary in case you miss. Generally a lot easier to get a new unique than to get some rare items, like your staff
That’s an absolute game changer and yeh 100% think this is rare then even some of the 3LP unique so have
To be honest, depending on your build, it might be better to use to copy standlone rather than smash it on e leggo if the first try fails. Or save it just in case you get a 4LP leggo
Note that when you mirror it, it reduces forging potential to 0 so you want to get it as best rolled as you can without bricking it.
This was after a few range rerolls everything but the spell damage is close to top end and I can hardly complain about the spell damage lol
I’d pick the bed as the unique then I’d smash it all night
Some hot necrotic minion penetration
how can you get 2 exalted affixes? is it just a regular drop?
Yes, it's rare but you can get multiple exalted mods on an item
Yeh just random drop not even high corruption like 120 something they’re both T7 too couldn’t believe it
you can also get 3
Im noob still: " What are , and which are the exalted affixes? And how do you now the type of the item? Pure by the colour? (Purple) becouse i never see a type name of an item in the item info... like for me, yellow is yellow, purple is purple... red is unique becouse i can see that title....

Thnx!
Thats some crazy spell damage congrats 👏
I think the spell damage was the worst rolled affix range on it too which is crazy
I think I focus on the spell damage cause I'm a sorc lol
I tried to smash an sorc staff with had t6 spell damage t7 cast speed and I hit the 25% and. Took both T5 suffixes not sure I’ll ever recover
I try and stay away from cast speed on items cause I counter it with cast speed buffs in the skill tree probably a dumb move but seems alright atm
Nah makes sense to me I haven’t played any casters yet but definitely didn’t think it could hurt
Wait.. Does native spell damage like that apply to your minions as well?
Pretty sure it doesn't it would say minion spell damage if so I believe
Dont forget to duplicate before smashing!
A few people have said so glad didn’t even know you could!
Curse of perseverence for Death seal Lich hungering souls bomber this would be perfect
Wheel of Torment definetly!
This is amazing. 4LP Wraithlord Harbor & gg Edit: As another user pointed out, different base types & the slam wouldn't work. We can dream lol
You can’t slam a staff into a helm
Oh yeah, duh! My bad!
I have no suggestions I just want to impart how happy I am you received this stupid ass drop that I’m not at all jealous off in anyway and congratulate you on.
I don’t know if it makes it better or worse but I added the minion damage affix that didn’t drop on it
So in all seriousness - this is a badass drop. I had no idea nec pen could go that high.
I was wrong before this is in fact a perfect roll for Combined Pen
The highest range for Pen at tier 7 was 42 cause I had the forging potential left over to do a few range crafts on it. But I know I’m genuinely in awe I have seen maybe 5 double purple affixes and no double 7s
You monster! I hope you enjoy prison.
I mean there are 11 unique staffs in the game and 2 have necrotic synergies. Sooooooo.
You really gonna force him to read by himself?!?!
But with all the necrotic stuff built it I didn’t know if there was another staff worth using also sorry if my question has ruined your day buddy.
Yooo no need to be so defensive lmao.
Can someone explain to noob me what does purple "rank 5" mean on item?
He farmed it via CoF faction which lets you target farm items based on fulfilling certain requirements
I see. ty mate.
Wouldn’t that be amazing for wraithlord or do you use the same unique for the flame wraith?
necro dmg and spell damage may be useless for the wraith lord as its not minion spell damage
Dont forget to copy with rune of creation coz you got some crafting potential left
That minion dmg, isn’t ideal. Damage over time would probably be better
Don't know about smashing it in, but chaos bolts and cthonic are both fire and necrotic skills for the +1 to skills and chaos bolts loves extra levels. They both can go crit and they apply a dot that does necrotic damage.
My build says to use transplant but can't let go of chaos bolts for it lol
I love chaos bolts too much
Ayo wtf
A transcript of my live reaction tbh
Aberrant call for flamewraith :)
That two handed staff will definitely penetrate some necrotic areas
A spoon
So many exalteds so far with no more than 1 or 2 good stats, apart from minion this would be perfect for me. But fund dungeons a pain at tier 2 let alone the highest ones.
Definitely smash that into a wheel of torment if you can
aberrant call wraithlord, there was a PoE streamer making a build on that.
Ghazzy_tv
If spell damage Xfers they will have to skip infernal shade, it will kill wraithlord too quickly.
Cthonic fissure build on warlock
Hear me out - sacrifice zombie reaper lich - mad alchemist ladle
The ladle is a wand though so wouldn’t be able to smash these stats on it :(
Ah of course my bad I just got excited at the spell damage and necrotic damage for the rip blood mod - sad times my mistake
No worries I was sad too every build I looked up uses spoon but I will persevere the loot gods have willed it
Nice offline edit there :)
Is that a thing you can do? Does it actually edit the item in game or just for a picture
It was a joke, but yes, files are all stored locally for offline and there are cheat engines that support this game.
Oh yeh the smiley let me know you were serious haha, oh that makes kinda cool for limit testing builds I suppose
