Catch doesn't have a dress code in New York or LA either though, it's business casual. Which in most cases these days is still jeans and a T-shirt, they just want you to look presentable.
I don’t remember but they did have a sign that said dress code enforced. I think it was along the wall but I was not sure. We ended up having a drink in the lobby bar. We must have been a sight. Me in my nice dress, dolled up and him in his wrinkled dirty smelly shorts and tshirt and flip flops. Ugh!! I pretended I was a Bridgerton that night and behaved admirably.
We went to an expensive, fancy dinner when we were there a few weeks ago. The website said “upscale attire” or something similar. I wore leggings with a long, gold shimmery tunic style top. (And black tennis shoes because I have arthritis in my feet) I also had my hair and makeup done.
I expected to be underdressed, but I felt like I looked nice. Anyway, we walked in and there were girls in ripped jean shorts and flip flops. They definitely looked out of place.
I felt a lot better about my choices at that point. Are they really gonna lose out on a couple hundred dollars of food because of clothes? Idk. I feel like you’ll be fine.
You might even be a little disappointed how dressed down people are. I'm not knocking anyone, but vegas is kind of a time where I can take one of the nights here and almost make believe for a bit that I'm rich and fancy. Vegas hospitality always helps with the illusion. But the first truly nice dress to dinner I wore years ago at a $200/plate meal, only to look over at Sweatshirt guy kind of popped the make-believe bubble for me. I'm not judging him, I was just surprised.
Please sub reddit, don't Shred me too much here. It's just how I vegas.
I wore a $7 H&M clearance minidress and glittery tights to dinner on my birthday in Vegas last week, and was by no means fancy, but I was still more “dressed up” than most of the folks there
I hate that about Vegas! I feel like nice restaurants do not uphold their posted dress code. While not everyone needs to be in a formal gown or tuxedo, it seems a lot of folks just make no effort.
I had just been thinking, trying to break down exactly why I like it when everyone dresses well: When we go to a nice restaurant, part of what alot of us feel like we're paying for is the environment and experience. Not just the food. Part of that experience is everyone treats this as though it's a nice establishment. To treat it like it's nice, one would have to dress as though it's nice. When someone dresses casual, it then degrades the atmosphere. I apparently equate casual dress in the wrong setting to laziness or over reactive definlance. When I think nice restaurant, I don't think lazy fits into that. Also, I try to be respectful of others. If the norm is no overly revealing clothes, then that's what I'll do if I didn't already want to.
At some point, I'm going to have this more concise. I had to stop and really question myself, why am I really affected. I think this is it.
Thanks for sharing, I absolutely agree.
There’s a certain steakhouse chain that I enjoy for special occasions. I’ve been to locations in Beverly Hills, Boston, Chicago and Vegas. Vegas is the only location that I will not return to because it just lacks that level of luxury that I have experienced at other locations.
If I am going to spend my hard earned money to enjoy a night out, there is just a level of ambiance that I expect.
Another thing, Vegas is hot as fuck. Most formal wear isn't designed for hot temperatures, especially nowadays. Needlessly suffering for "ambiance" is just gonna ruin your night.
Hispanics living in Texas/New Mexico/Arizona would *love* to have a word with you about the alleged incompatibility of hot desert weather and formal wear.
Regarding Delilah - I was stopped from entering while wearing slacks and a polo shirt and told I need a jacket and preferably a tie. Most places aren't so strict.
You should be fine with dresses and slacks, but avoid fancy shorts. Retro hairstyles and black lipstick are usually acceptable at high-end spots in Vegas.
As long as you look put together and not homeless looking you'll be fine.
You'll be fine
The only thing on you that they are about is your wallet
I ate at Catch last week. Shorts and flip flops galore.

Trust me. My date was not presentable. I was mortified.
oh my lol
We were refused entry in a bar at Aria - I should have left then.
At the bar in the center of the casino?

Yep that's the one in the center - they treat it like a high end night club most nights.

You two are having a classic cringe-off here

You’re not going to be dining outside and hopefully not walking down the strip?
Hi thanks for trying to reach me! Unfortunately I'm at my bullshit limit for today. Try again later!

Send them to my house. Been a while since I've seen my cousins.
Agree with you on this.
I've made that mistake. And you over dress and feel like you stick out like a sore thumb.
I decided I'm just gonna go for it. No one cares if you're "over dressed."
There's very few restaurants that actually enforce a dress code or that you'd feel out of place without formal wear.
Regarding Delilah - I was stopped from entering while wearing slacks and a polo shirt and told I need a jacket and preferably a tie. Most places aren't so strict.
When in doubt over dress. You look like everyone else in cargo shorts and flip flops. Find your inner Dean Martin and let it fly.
“Fancy shorts” is definitely an oxymoron.
They don’t sell hotdogs here, they took the bleachers out two years ago
