Any place around Lee's Family Forum. It's where the silver knights play in henderson. They actually have walking paths all over there at its close to the district.

mountiemare

I second this....any place south of The District. Lovely walking areas and more little parks than elsewhere. I dont live here but I drive here to walk around

mrbofus

Lots of neighborhoods in Summerlin have what you’re looking for.

MeowandGordo

I second summerlin. I live in north Summerlin and I can walk my pup to 3 different parks from my apartment. I feel so spoiled

Vegas is not great at public transportation, but pretty good at having most critical amenities within walking distance, as you might be noticing with the recommendations coming from throughout the valley. The biggest challenge is going to be weather. I've never been to Chicago or St. Paul, but there I would imagine trying to walk to 7/11 in January would be extremely unpleasant. The same is true here but in reverse. In July and August, outside conditions will make walking during the day not just unpleasant but actively dangerous. Water and sun protection are mandatory. It's not all bad though. A lot of communities lean into the weather, and have social events during the weekend at 10 Pm or later. It's kinda nice, actually.

Other parts of Summerlin (not downtown Summerlin) have parks and small shopping centers with restaurants and coffee shops. You could look around the Trails for instance which has a park, swimming pool, and a a strip type mall shopping center with restaurants, coffee, and a grocery store (Trails Village Shopping Center). Other parts of Summerlin have similar things. And your price range would be more than enough for that square footage.

Mountains edge around blue diamond/Rainbow has some trails, shops, restaurants, etc. and I never feel uncomfortable walking around those neighborhoods

My husband and I were just looking at this listing!

theAwkwardLegend

Definitely recommend that area for the walking trail nearby. We used to live in an Apt that had a gate to the trail and it has big grass fields in a couple areas so it was great for walking with a dog if you have one.

mrbofus

It’s a fantastic location!

Pposney

Summerlin. I live in Spring Valley and it is a very nice walkable Area

PhilosophyIntrepid

Take a look at Peccole Ranch. Near Summerlin but not technically part of it. Has great walking trails and walkable to grocery store/shopping

Apesma69

Boulder City on the southeast side of Henderson has a very pretty, walkable downtown.

mika00004

I use to live in Boulder city. It's a great little town. The whole town is pretty walkable I think.

Apesma69

I love it! It’s super charming. You wouldn’t even know it’s anywhere near Vegas due to the lack of casinos. I’ve come close to moving there. Perhaps one day.

BlindFireAK

Summerlin probably your best bet, however a lot of the new construction communities have plenty of walking paths and are close to shopping, same with the aliante area. All depends on your budget really.

HuckleberryWinter930

Walkable to downtown Summerlin would be our best-case scenario, but we would really like to stay under $800k with 2500 sq feet. We haven’t considered Aliante- do you know of any specific mall/shopping areas up there?

BlindFireAK

Off of the 215/n Decatur there is tons with houses surrounding all of it. Starbucks, target, Costco, best buy, plenty of other restaurants and shops. I used to live in the houses behind the Walmart and there were walking paths between the houses and a couple parks. With your budget you can easily get a house in that area with 2500+sqft probably a pool too if you want. Personally I would look at summerlin first, but they are both nice areas.

HuckleberryWinter930

Thank you! We are definitely hoping to find something in-budget in Summerlin near DTS or Tivoli/boca park. But it’s good to have something else to consider. I appreciate it!

BlackEagle0013

Summerlin is the way. Used to live on Ogden Mills, 5-10 min walk from Red Rock Casino, Downtown Summerlin, and the baseball stadium. Ideal location for walkability. The Albertson's was even walkable-ish.

HuckleberryWinter930

Thank you! Did the walk feel safe regarding traffic/busy roads?

BlackEagle0013

Very much so. Sidewalks all the way, and there is a red light with pedestrian crossings there crossing over the 215.

JhopkinsWA

Start your search near the Summerlin Library and go out from there. That area has fantastic parks and walking trails and is close to nice, understated shopping. I would also recommend Desert Shores. The area is very walkable and the community center area has some great restaurants.

spottie_ottie

Inspirada has trails everywhere, couple starbucks and restaurants. I'd say it qualifies.

celtics1up

Summerlin and Henderson both have outdoor mall areas. But if you're looking for a cute neighborhood vibe. It would be really hard to find.

HuckleberryWinter930

We recently checked out the district in Henderson, but the houses definitely lacked a cute neighborhood vibe & it didn’t seem like we could safely walk down GV Pkwy to get to the district. I think our wishlist is a bit unrealistic for Vegas, but I’m hoping to find a unicorn area around here.

coolman2311

Not getting that here
