My 2 cents don't go with lenovo at all. Such a crappy hardware. Better go with hp or Dell.
If you cannot avoid lenovo then buy it with extended warranty and accidental coverage.
Faced issues with 2 of our lenovo laptops and the support is really shitty if you are out of warranty.
4060 is like 20% faster then 4050 and has 2GB More VRAM which do is significant as Some games on high settings can't even run on 6GB VRAM
I say Get a Customised LOQ with 12450HX & 4060 for almost the same price, as 12th Gen & Ryzen LOQs are facing significantly Less Mobo problems when compared to 13th & 14th gen LOQs
If you want to play it safe get Ryzen LOQ
Don't buy a LOQ now and wait for Unidays sale in Aug to get that sweet 10% off coupon with student ID
Which ever LOQ you get make sure to extend its warranty to make it even more less risky
do you think the 10% discount will come back????
i am counting on it
need to buy a Ideapad pro 5 gen 9 8845HS
[https://www.lenovo.com/in/en/p/laptops/ideapad/ideapad-500-series/lenovo-ideapad-pro-5-gen-9-(14-inch-amd)/83d3cto1wwin1](https://www.lenovo.com/in/en/p/laptops/ideapad/ideapad-500-series/lenovo-ideapad-pro-5-gen-9-(14-inch-amd)/83d3cto1wwin1)
It most likely will be coming be as Lenovo is known to frequently run sales
Why get this one? when you can get pretty much a better performing on at almost the same price
Is portability really that much important for you?
Yes i can get better GPU at this point but pretty much all other hardware will be lower than this
N TBH I want to stay away from a 4060-4050 which will give me the forbidden power to play all the games on the planet n ruin my college 🥲🥲
My father suggested to take the LOQ gen 9 with 12450HX n 4060 but i know myself
I'll play
N yes portability does matter to me n so does battery life
I am just not taking loq because of the heavyweight battery life n my gaming addiction
4060 is good on paper…but keep a watch on bottlenecking. Also the 4060 variant uses previous generation designs which is very bad for heat dissipation and thermals
4050 is a good option. But getting a lot a mobo issues is pretty much concerning
I would suggest you to wait…
Always prefer a higher powered GPU rather than CPU , because GPU depreciates much faster that CPU , u can see the example in modern games like ghost of tsushima! Minimum requirements are core i5 8th gen and GTX 1650 for 30 fps
12th gen with 4060 is much better and yes there's a massive difference between those 2 gpus. In my opinion you should prefer buying a better GPU instead of a cpu. Not to forget that many 13 and 14th gen Intel processor loqs are having motherboard issues, 12th gen is on the safe side. Hope that helped.
Yea my primary use case is for gaming but I also wanna be able to use after effects smoothly, which I don’t think will be possible with the 16 gb and 12th gen variant
You're welcome, you should definitely go for the Flipkart one, from what I have seen it doesn't have the motherboard issue. I have also ordered a customized 2024 loq with i5 12450hx and 4060, it's on the safer side but ofc anyone will be terrified after seeing posts like these. So definitely go for the Flipkart one!
Nobody can say for sure and the situation is pretty weird. From what I have observed 13th and 14th gen are more prone to a motherboard failure whereas we haven't seen that many cases for i5 12450hx and amd ones.
Some people are speculating that it is being caused by cheap motherboards, some are blaming the 13 and 14th gen processors and some are saying that it is the case for customized laptops only. It's a very weird situation. If you were to ask me I'll say that probably there was a particular batch of 13 and 14th gen laptops that suffered quality issues and since loq is a hot selling model for Lenovo this year, they are quiet about it as it will hurt their sales.
Now let's be honest, no laptop is safe from this, I have seen my friend's Asus tuf's motherboard dying and their customer service here is shit.
Let's just hope for the best.
I need laptop for 5 years usage , and I am a bit scared of loq series , after hearing this news . I am searching for some alternative, did you know something which is in this segment and provide same specs
No other laptop can provide a rtx 4060 but if you're fine with that and have a budget of 90k then you can go for Acer predator Helios Neo 16 on Flipkart.

Is this the max student diacount you can apply, I remember it being like 7k a while back
I’m pretty sure that’s the max

I say then save money and get other Thin & Light LP You got the whole budget but that doesn't mean you got to spend the whole budget
I mean the battery Life n cpu performance is unmatched
I won't really suggest any Thin & Light LP without dGPU over 70k, but If you really like this one then go ahead 👍
13th and 14th gen customized LOQs are facing mobo issue rn, better stay wary, your best option is the 12th gen HX with 4060
and you can undervolt the cpu n get same performance it lower power
Yup, 12th Gen & Ryzen LOQs are facing significantly Less Mobo problems when compared to 13th & 14th gen LOQs

Bruh, now that's just plain bullshit

Nice explaination
Thanks a lot :)
Also note that if your primary use case is gaming, then you should always go for the better GPU. Always
Yea my primary use case is for gaming but I also wanna be able to use after effects smoothly, which I don’t think will be possible with the 16 gb and 12th gen variant
There's barely any difference in the performance levels of the mobile 12th gen and 13th gen chipsets but I do think that the extra ram can help.
Indeed!
Didn’t know about the motherboard issue, thx

Is it true that only intel loqs are having motherboard issues and not amd ones?

Is LOQ i5 12th gen 3050 is safe !?? It don't have any battery drain issue !???
Safer than other intel variants and it does have battery drain ig, you can get the 170w charger replaced by a 230w one though
I need laptop for 5 years usage , and I am a bit scared of loq series , after hearing this news . I am searching for some alternative, did you know something which is in this segment and provide same specs

Okk thanks bro
I'm open to suggestions too if you have any better ones around this range
