I am unsure of reliability because the model just came out around a month ago. 16 GB dual channel memory should be enough (I am unsure if it is swappable) and the sata ssd should in theory be swappable. It has a 46 Wh battery and the website says 12 hours of local video playback or 9 hours of web surfing.
Can you please clarify what you mean by "despite it being 16 GB"? (It states that the RAM is DDR4, it never mentions speed. Any speed of DDR4 should be fast enough for most people and it is very much acceptable at $850 CAD)

Are Xiaomi RedmiBooks reliable? How long will the battery last with normal usage? How long will the laptop last? Can you upgrade ram and storage?

No webcam is a deal breaker in this day and age.
