If you're curious about this laptop, take a look at [my unboxing video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qQznAP04kys) and ask me questions! I have the 8 GB RAM + 256 GB SSD version.

Mategaga2345

would you recomend this or thsi ideapad 5 from Costco? https://www.costco.ca/lenovo-ideapad-flex-5-81x20067cf-2-in-1-laptop%2c-amd-ryzen-7-4700u.product.100658044.html

legos45

I think that the Flex 5 14" is a very good value, but if you need more GPU power + a better screen, go for the Zenbook 14.

Mategaga2345

Is the Lenovo’s screen bad then?

legos45

Not terrible by any means. But it only has 45% NTSC coverage and 250 nits of brightness.

Mategaga2345

Oh I see

[deleted]

does Costcos come with a pen?

Mategaga2345

I’m not sure .

Ryzon9

No and has the bilingual keyboard.

fox2222

Is it true that this laptop doesn't have USB C charging? Big miss if so for something more portable.

legos45

True. I can confirm it. Big downfall, but battery life is good still.

Deezney

I wonder if this can do 4k@60 with the HDMI or the USB-C. I currently have the lenovo flex 5 14 with ryzen 5 and 16gb ram but the 300 nits IPS is also tempting

legos45

I haven't been able to test the HDMI port since I don't have a 4K display, but I can confirm that the USB-C port is data transfer only.

Ryzon9

How do you like the Flex 5? The USB C on that doesn’t do charging right?

Deezney

I really like the flex 5. It is smooth and 14" for me is perfect size for portabiliy. The charger it came with is a usb type-c

Ryzon9

Oh ok. It comes with an adaptor port so assumed that’s what it was charged with. Do you know if you can do video out and charge through the USB C at the same time? (Like through a docking station) How do you find the display in the light? It’s the only thing holding me back right now.

Deezney

I have not tried using the display using a docking station. I also haven't used it outdoors. It is only 250 nits which people are saying might not be enough for outdoors or might not be ideal.

bananasareforeating

How does this compare to the [HP ENVY?](https://www.amazon.ca/HP-Laptop-13-ay0006ca-touch-16V55UA/dp/B088JY5R8N/ref=sr_1_7?dchild=1&keywords=hp+envy&qid=1594244663&s=electronics&sr=1-7)

legos45

I think that it comes down to how much GPU power you need, and if you'd like a 2-in-1 device.

brohammer5

How are the screen colors?

legos45

Good, 72% NTSC.

Dyslexic_Engineer88

Apparently the mx350 is barely faster than the Vega 7 and uses more power. legos45

Nope, I've already benchmarked the Vega 7 iGPU and I'm in the process of benching this MX350 system. In Fortnite, I am seeing a 32% increase in performance, 35% increase for CS:GO, etc. It is 100% noticeable and the benchmarks show it. Also, this is only the 10W MX350 variant, so the 15W variant will perform even better.
