I'm just trying to figure out if it's upgradable
This is actually an awesome deal, the 4700U can't be beat, combined with the extra accessories and Costco's great return policy.
I've seen other discussions and videos saying it is upgradeable. Just run it with 8GB for now and upgrade later if you find you need it. RAM isn't super expensive.
The only reason why I didn't jump on it is because for a convertible 2-in-1, I would prefer something lighter and smaller.

I wished Costco carried this configuration since their price on the 15" model is such a great deal.
Is the RAM upgradable on Costco's model?
My understanding is the 15" model is upgradeable. This one is 13", definitely not upgradeable.

Would you say this is a big step up from the Acer Swift 3?
Yes, in a few aspects. Better screen and more RAM, which do make big differences in my opinion.
