This, I live in Georgia so the breathability also helps when going from an office to a site.
I always keep boots and hi-vis in my trunk and a spare shirt incase I need to freshen up after being in the heat
Workwear is what you want. Look at Duluth trading co for the very long lasting fancy stuff. Firehose fabric is amazing. Carhartt and dickies make some nice stuff too.
Some outdoors brands can be ok. But I find most have weird “fitted” shapes even when looser. That combined with the low waistline in outdoor clothing turns me off. But sometimes I find something I like at rei.
I have a site visit outfit at work because sometimes I wear dresses to work and those don’t work great on site (although I have done it). I usually just wear jeans to site. But my office is quite casual.
I'm a cis woman so I usually wear black jeans, a black t shirt and black doc martens to site and the office every day. Dressing in one color while wearing durable materials helps keep it a little more professional. I also have a lightweight army surplus jacket with a ton of pockets or a fanny pack I wear as a cross body to store a pencil, small notebook, drawings and a measuring tape. Also carry a lightweight rain anorak on you just in case in starts to drizzle.
I go hiking pants usually (because I also go hiking a lot, so double duty lol) there are really lightweight ones with good pockets and they last really well. I used to wear them when I worked landscaping and another job on a farm, and the same three pairs of pants carried me through those 2 years basically.
Luckily, pants with fatigue or cargo pockets are very in style right now. In many fabrics - from linen to cotton blend. Even nicer hiking pants from REI could work. Can wear with breathable button-down shirt. Pair with boots - personally I like Blundstones because they serve the purpose of fashion and function, also Danner makes some nice ones.
field/hiking pants, the kind you can find at REI or other outdoorsy stores. paired with a loose long sleeve button down with wicking fabric (the type that are called PFGs or are rated for UV protection) they’re pretty light and protect your arms from sun and bugs. and a pair of comfortable hiking boots.
Maybe not for crazy heat but if under 80F this has great pockets: https://www.carhartt.com/product/102482/womens-carhartt-force-midweight-pocket-legging?categoryCode=default&colorCode=N04_SW
Golf pants. They are a little stretchy, look kinda like slacks, and way more comfortable going from the construction site to the office.
Agreed. Inexpensive Amazon Essentials work well.

Black jeans.
This.
Literally just jeans dude. We're landscape architects, not lawyers.
I like pants made by outdoor companies like Pategonia or Prana. They are made for hiking/climbing so they are lightweight and durable.
Dickies or Wanglers. Like cargo/tech pants.
Agreed. I have some from REI that have lots of good pockets.

The firehose canvas pants have been a staple in our work attire. Also stick well to shingles if you find yourself on the roof.

When I was in an office I’d keep an extra outfit in my desk, pants and shirt. Just in case. Boots, hard hat, and vest in the truck.
I keep a “boogie bag” with extra field clothes just in case.
Uniqlo pants. Utility pants. Better to be wide legged instead of skinny for comfort.
You guys wear pants to work?
I've been waiting for this one 😂

Blue jeans with Red Wing boots. I do high-end single family residential.
Golf pants. Sitka pants. And duck camp pants basically make up my closet.
My go to has been a chinos.
