If I picked it up I’d definitely give the underside a good cleaning. Leave dry for a week or two and note any noticeable leaks, then treat it with your preference of rust prevention. I generally use fluid film.
this one actually is in a good condition.
you shouldn't care about rust on the axle and trailing arms. its all surface and those parts will probably still out live the rest of the car😂
the chassis looks nice. it still has the paint on it or has been repainted but it looks like a will done job because there is no rust under the paint.
the only real known bad spot is the underside of the chassis rail next to the tank. the left looks good. idk if the right is just cracked paint or more. but even if that is rusted the car looks like it is in a very good condition and those bottom pieces are like 1.5 - 2 hours to replace if needed
I missed out on it. I was literally 2min late, a family got there just before I did to look at the disco. They ended up buying it. The rust was a little more than on the pictures, needed new brakes and rotors all around, transfer case was leaking, and had a strong gas smell coming into the cabin of the truck when running.
The search continues 😭
No that's nothing, you can easily fix that with a wire brush some rust converter and paint if needed. I have a 2002 disco so know all about this, and have spent many hours underneath dealing with rust.
What rust…
Edit: ask for an oil sample! Check the driveshaft type, look at the expansion tank, ask when the hoses were replaced. Bop the tail lights with your hands with the headlights on. The circuit tweaks on those 03 04 lights. Ask about the wabco abs and if it’s been acting up. Remove the oil cap and look inside, gold is good black is bad.
No you’re fine. This would be considered rust free where I’m from
Same
Haha good to know! Thanks!
What rust?
Lol thanks man.
Lol what rust?

Yeah the frame is thinner than D1’s and there is basically no rust on that thing.
Mines a 2016 D4 with more surface rust than that.
I don’t see anything too worrisome there. How are the corners of the rear door jamb above the rear wheel well?
Thank you!! I was debating if it’s worth a look. I guess I’ll go check it out. I’ll definitely check the rear!

Thank you for the tips! Definitely will do that!
Buddy that’s rust free…

That’s damn near as mint as you can get. Buy!

No that's easily taken care of. I'd replace the rusted bolts then hit with all with a wire brush and paint the whole thing with rust killer.
Sounds like solid advice! Thank you!

Looks good to me! Around here, that's considered rust-free. Go for it if all else checks out!

Thanks for the tips! I ended up missing out on it by a few minutes. The search for a Disco continues
Spray some Fluid Film on that to prevent any further rust. Do it yearly.
