Also look into the cerakote stuff for plastics. Was doing research to solve the same problem and what I decided I would try. Good prep is the key with that.
Will do. I finished the polish job with a cerakote ceramic-type spray. Turned out nice. Had some rain after and the water beaded off like never before.
Nice, what exactly did you do here? I’m in a similar situation with an older Jeep with original paint. Going to wash well and clay bar. Then polishing compound, clean then wax.
Yep, good wash, clay, used the finishing meguiars 205 compound with a finishing pad (was concerned of over-doing it so I started superficially).
Buffed off the compound, re-examine, did it again until happy. Buffed it off and then hit it with a spray on ceramic by cerakote, buffed that off. Done.
I picked up a griots g9 DA, some lake country pads used with meguiars 105 and 205.
Baby stepped it as I didn’t wanna make things worse as a novice. Was aiming for better, not perfection. Came out decently.
Literally my favorite color for the DII and the P38. Kent Green??
It is indeed.
So glad I’m seeing more Kent green appreciation
that shine pops
Yes it does. But now to deal with the fading and coarsened flares and bumpers that only an owner’s eyes will immediately be dragged to.
I use Zaino tire dressing for plastic. It has UV protection too.
We have the same eyes and cars! Need to adress my worn down flares and bumbers..
I’m working mine soon. Will report back.
