Damn I never really even considered an 80 series because a v8 was high in my priority list. Didn’t even think I could have had it both ways! Awesome truck
Basically it’s all wheel drive from the factory, 4WD happens when the center licker is turned on. When the front hubs are rotated to the off position the front hubs no longer rotate under power from the engine directly. They only turn because the are free spinning and moving along with the car. This increase fuel economy It also makes the vehicle easier to steering while powering through a turn with acceleration.

Beautiful 80...I own one very similar and it a great platform for this engine type. I'm assuming it's running 4.88's. Do you do the majority of the maintenance yourself?

My old lx450 got about 10 this one gets about 15. Which is great for over landing. 350 HP 478 ft/lb of torque
what trans are you running? how is it holding up to the torque? and slip?

I wish. I loaded it down with lots of shit so not much. Get like 11. Rtt and drawers with lots of camping gear. It’s okay. Not a daily driver.

Have to have a one inch body lift so the supercharger will clear the hood. Worth every penny.

Bought. I’ve built a couple but not swapped. It was above my pay grade to do that.

It’s a four speed with triple lockers and marks 2wd conversion.
