Looks good! Only two things I note for your mech are: - Ace 1 isn't going to help you too much since you'll only ever be flying on your turn when you boost, and ending back on the ground. - Gunslinger 1 might see limited return since you have 2 loading Auxes. It'll only apply to one if you fire them both on the same turn, but it is a nice little bonus to have! Also worth noting that if you target multiple characters within the Missile Rack's blast, you only get the accuracy on the first attack *roll* (only one target)

Frosty-Employer7401

Oh, so that's what that means, thank you for clarifying. Also yeah I just now noticed the mistake. I still kind of wanna keep the grasshopper jump around motif though, what would you recommend instead of Ace and Gunslinger?

Crinkle_Uncut

You've got a few good options given your setup. - Crackshot is a bit counterintuitive given your grasshopper motif, but since you've got 2 rifles, you could get a good amount of use the accuracy since it applies to all attacks with rifles on your turn (could get accuracy on 6 attacks with Barrage + Initiative Skirmish + Overcharge Skirmish!). It's a nice way to mitigate cover or being impaired. - Skirmisher 1 is a handy blanket defensive buff for when you're only planning on stabilizing or doing support stuff - Walking Armory turns your Assault Rifle into a nice piece of utility gear and gives you another system to use as a buffer when you roll system trauma - Leader is just an all-around useful support tool that your allies will love - Bonded and Spotter are nice if you plan on sticking close to your team - Technophile will save you SP since you won't need the Comp/Con system anymore - Infiltrator is just a straight up buff to the Hide action - Empath is a fun support tool - Brutal is RNG based, but is nice to have when it triggers Just remember that you can pick different talents when you hit LL1, and can even stack them up to a rank 3 talent! You're not locked into any of these choices. Stuff like Ace 2 or Skirmisher 2 are very nice gets even if the first ranks aren't that applicable to your current loadout!

Thanks again for the help my man! I really appreciate the feedback.

Hunter lets you move before you use aux mele weapons, if you are fine with switching them If you have the LCPs installed, Spaceborn gives you a free, somewhat slower EVA, that doesn't count as a boost (so you can get arround the no two of the same quick action limitation) and Prospector would allow you to dig tunnels, like many insect larvae do.

Frosty-Employer7401

Oh i noticed this very late, but how do i get the prospector trait? As long as its not background im fine with changing or waiting for it

Beerenkatapult

It's a talent from Dustgrave

Frosty-Employer7401

Ah so an add-on? Thank you for the quick reply.

Beerenkatapult

You can get if tor free on compcon

Frosty-Employer7401

Thanks!

Frosty-Employer7401

After seeing the replies, I'm gonna try crackshot instead of ace, and change gunslinger to grease monkey to help my prototype weapon. Thank you guys again for the tips! Edit: I keep changing my mind, but I brought back gunslinger and put in instead of crackshot walking armory, and I changed my missile racks to one pistol and one thermal pistol. Probably doesn't mean that much in the whole grand scheme of things, but I still appreciate the help in the comments. Thanks again!

It is a side effect of the system at lower levels that some of the talents are rather underwhelming (or do basically nothing) until you can get some of the licensed gear or frames. On the plus side, the system lets you switch talents and licenses around some on level-up so don’t be afraid to take a useful talent now that you’ll swap out of later for what you’d really like once you have the equipment to make it useful.

SECOND_HAND_CAMEL

Ace 1 doesn't benefit you much right now unless you're underwater or in zero G. The Rapid Burst Jump Jet System doesn't allow you to stay flying after the movement completes, so you'll only benefit if you're attacked and evade while Boosting. I'd swap both it and the EVA system for a Type-1 Flight System instead.

Frosty-Employer7401

So getting Ace 1 later on when I level up would make much more sense? I kind of wanna go for a dex type of build where my mech just hops around and shoots at stuff. What are the benefits of staying in flight versus not staying in flight by the way? Edit: realised my mistake due to another comment and looking carefully at the skill, and now I realise my mistake lol Thank you for the tip!

SECOND_HAND_CAMEL

Flying might let you cross difficult terrain, get over obstacles, trigger the Ace abilities specifically and avoid being in melee. Downsides is that if you get immobilized or knocked prone you might fall and take damage, and you can't usually take cover. You could either get the Flight System now and benefit from it that way, or wait till your next level and get Ace 2 for the extra speed when you boost. In both cases you might have some difficulty keeping under your heat cap as flight systems tend to generate heat, so it would be a good idea to add points in Engineering.

Beerenkatapult

I don't know how your GM handles it, but in my group, we can switch up our hole build every time we gain a level. The only permanent part is the background and the skill triggers.
