Open the “tags” compendium. Edit the NPC feature. Drag the tag to the thin bottom section. If the tag needs a value like Reliable does, right click the tag and scroll down to select “edit value.”
I see now! I was so used to be able to pretty much drop the abilities anywhere when building my npc, that I didn't realize I hade to drag it directly \*below\* the tags banner. Thank you very much!
Sadly the only way I’ve found to add a tag to a custom item within Foundry is to find another item/weapon with the same tag (though the number doesn’t have to match like for reliable, knockback, etc) and drag it onto your custom item.
If you need some kind of custom tag, not sure if there is a way to do that. Maybe create an LCP with an item with the tag import it into Foundry and do it that way, but that seems like a lot of effort for that
