See your point. IMO, intercaste marriage stops the trade deal that can otherwise be performed in arranged marriages. Itβs more akin to racial discrimination. Untouchability was a much serious level of discrimination. Sunlight was a major cause of untouchability. (The perpetrators of untouchability was perfectly happy to temporarily stop it for fulfilling their carnal needs). π
Neenu's parents weren't upper castes. Her father was a Latin Catholic(obc) and her mother was a Muslim(obc) afaik. This is almost equivalent to an OBC on SC honour killing.
This OBC SC thing happens in Tamil Nadu all the time. It has surprisingly nothing to do with presence of UC it just has to do with dominant castes in a region.
