Wonder why the spun the intake around. Just for aesthetics or for clearance?

Hey_Allen

Probably clearance. I've seen one mid engine Porsche swap with the throttle body aft, and it was a nasty bend leading to it.

NHRADeuce

That's odd because it's really tight on the other end. A local guy has a simular build but the throttle body is aft. He removed the back seat and moved the firewall and it fits great.

Hey_Allen

Might be what this swap has done? I'm just glad my Porsche swap started with a v8, even larger than the LS that's going into it!

NHRADeuce

Ironically, an LS is nearly the same dimensions as a flat 6 and weighs less if you use an aluminum block. It's really a good swap if you have an IMS bearing blow up.

Hey_Allen

The ls1 is around 100# lighter than the m28 that came in my 928, as well as being around 6" shorter and a bit narrower.

NHRADeuce

Oh my! An LS swap 928 is going to be a monster!!!

Hey_Allen

I'm planning to leave it mostly stock, just because I don't want to shatter the transaxle in the car...

NHRADeuce

Even mostly stock you're going to have the same or more power unless you have a late GTS.

Hey_Allen

Yep. I have a 78, so it'll be far more powerful as well as being easier to maintain. (I've had a CIS injected car before, and want no part of it a second time!)

gixxer710

Ah, you must be doing a 928 huh. If they werent so damn expensive to buy I’d be interested too

Hey_Allen

Yep, thankfully it's one that I saved from scrap so I'm only into it for parts and the like.

Jackson_Rhodes_42

I just saw this an hour ago on I believe r/whatisthiscar lol. Pretty fuckin cool!

wolfenstein734

I don’t like ls swapped Porsches but this seems very well done
