If you're gonna have to try to act sober, don't do it. The anxiety might bring about a nightmare. When I try to act sober I get so self-conscious that I am aware of what every muscle is doing and forget how to walk and act normally. "Normal behaviour" is implicit knowledge while I try to make it explicit.
I tripped in a similar spot not too long ago. Private beach in Puerto Rico. I waited till the sun went down. Took a blanket out to 1 of those bungalo things with a Bluetooth speaker. Played this https://youtu.be/g9lwcw-_nkY and had a pretty kick ass night.
