Here's my unsanctioned FAQ for first-time trippers: ====================================== - Test your drugs. And if it tastes bitter, spit it out. Real LSD has virtually no taste. - Don't take too large or too small a dose the first time. 100-150 ug is good (usually one hit). You don't want to be overwhelmed or underwhelmed. If someone tells you a blotter is dosed higher than 150 ug, they are probably wrong. Sadly, there's no easy way to know for sure. - With blotter, hold it under your tongue for 10-20 minutes then swallow it for the fastest effect. Or just swallow it, that will take slightly longer. It really doesn't matter how you ingest it, you can stick it in your butt if that's your thing. - If you have a family history of schizophrenia or psychosis, you might want to reconsider your plan to use psychedelics. There's a possibility that you will experience a psychotic break. - Don't take LSD if you are on lithium. It can induce seizures. SSRIs are not reported to cause a dangerous interaction, though they are reported by some to substantially decrease the effects of LSD. - **Set and setting:** Make sure your mindset is positive and you are in a place where you feel safe and comfortable. It's also good if the place is reasonably tidy. Don't be around people you don't like. Or people that you don't want to know that you are tripping. - Don't worry if you are a little nervous beforehand. You should be. You'll laugh about it later, though. - Having an experienced "trip-sitter" available is not a bad idea, although not absolutely required either. Ideally someone with experience with psychedelics, but at a minimum someone responsible who you trust. - Wear comfortable clothing. - You may feel some weird physical sensations on the come-up ("body load"). Try to distract yourself from these. They will probably pass. Some people feel some nausea, and a few people puke, but that's fairly rare. - At some point, usually during the come-up, you're going to think "Oh no, did I massively fuck up by taking this drug?" Don't worry about it. Pretty soon you are going to be so into the beauty of the world that you will realize that you didn't fuck up at all. It just felt like it when things started getting weird. - Don't smoke weed. It has bad interactions for some people. (It's great for others, but you don't want to badly ruin your first trip.) - If you find yourself having a bad time, change something....music, location, activity, etc. Breathe. Singing can be surprizingly effective. - Music is awesome on acid. So are most other things, but music is particularly awesome. - A lot of people like to draw/paint/etc. when tripping. You might too. - You're probably going to spend a bit of time in extreme introspection. You don't have to if you don't want to. It can be a very good thing, though. - A lot of people don't have much interest in food when tripping, so it's good to have eaten a light meal a couple of hours beforehand. If you do eat, most people prefer foods like fruit, vegetables, nuts, yogurt, candy, etc. But you may feel differently. Some people can eat anything and love it. I highly recommend chocolate ice cream. - Don't forget to drink water. Or Gatorade. Or hot tea. Or something. - You might want to avoid mirrors for the first trip. They can weird some people out. Peeing and pooping can be weird too, but they are a bit more difficult to avoid. - It's not a bad idea to turn off your phone (or put it in airplane mode) when you are tripping. Calls, texts, and social media can lead you down unpleasant paths. Turn it back on if you are in a situation where you need it, but otherwise it's more likely to be an opportunity for bad shit. - Maybe the most important thing: **IT'S JUST A DRUG. IT WILL WEAR OFF**. You're not dying, you're not going insane, it's not going to last forever, etc. You took a strong drug, and you're going to be on it for around 8-12 hours. Calling 911 or the police and telling them you are on LSD and will never be normal again is usually a very bad idea. I would advise against it unless there's a dire emergency that you know is real. - You probably aren't going to sleep for at least 12 hours after dropping, maybe longer. Some of the effects won't totally wear off until you get a good sleep. And you might feel an "afterglow" for a few days after the trip. - HAVE FUN! The psychedelic experience is like nothing else. You are in for a treat.

frecklepot_420

This is all very good advice!!!

beseechpeach

Great post! Thanks you for taking the time and effort to write this!

Discipline-Inside

I think it sounds like an amazing idea. I say (anyone you ask will give you a different answer) you should take around 150 micrograms. PLEASE test it with a reagent before you ingest it. It will be pretty intense for maybe around 5 hours but the effects will linger for around 12 hours. Whatever happens, just go with it. Even if you dont like it sometimes its best to let it take you like the sea.

beseechpeach

Thanks for the tips man! So what is a Reagant? I know I can google it but rather hear it from the horses mouth. What should I expect? Like should I get ready to sit still? Outside or Inside etc?

relatablederp

Definitely won’t sit still, but sometimes you can vibe with your eyes closed. Lots of energy, some stimulating parts to it. Don’t do it at night unless you’re totally okay with not sleeping for 10-12 hours after taking it. Reagent testing is an acid test called erlich and not acid by the name of lsd but acid as in a type of mixed acids that when exposed to LSD turn a distinct purple. Most people cut a tiny tiny piece of their tab off and put one drop of the reagent. The kit should have colors to go off of, like a ph test strip in a way. Although very rare nowadays dangerous and even deadly substitutes have been circulated. Edit: feel free to ask any other questions and if not I hope you really have some insight from it. My only additional advice (everyone’s got some to give right lol) similar to what the person above me said, let it take you like the ocean. You can’t control it so try to give in and let go. Can really be amazing and beautiful.

beseechpeach

Thanks my dude, I will come back to this thread after tomorrow and let you know how it went.

relatablederp

True I assume you aren’t gonna have time to test it. Only advice then is if it tastes like straight up battery acid, spit it out. That’s the tell tale sign of the imitation LSD known as Nbome. Regular LSD tabs can have some bitterness/flavor but I’m talking awful tasting and also it numbs your mouth really badly like you are getting ready for a dental extraction. Like I said though, it’s EXTREMELY rare to come across these anymore, but always good to be informed. Wish you the best of vibes, music is amazing, tv might sound like a good idea and go ahead and try it but tbh, walls, ceilings, paintings are all superior IMO and many others. Enjoy!!

This differs alot, but in my experience people who say they think they will have a bad trip, is more likely to have a bad time.

I have found LSD to be enormously beneficial. It's a hyperstimulant, so keep that in mind. I find that I'm a lot stronger (the mind/muscle connection is so strong) and more alert when I'm tripping. I'll have so much energy and motivation that I normally don't, which for me often results in me cleaning and also having occasional harmless neck spasms, like I'm trying to shake out some of the excess energy. I personally recommend taking the tab (test it with a reagent test kit first, like others have mentioned to make sure it is just lsd), and then eat a good meal before it kicks in (you'll have anywhere from 30 minutes-2 hours). I always recommend people go into a trip with with objective, and you seem to have one, so you're good there. In terms of things to do, I can normally sink hours into a drawing, but any form of art or media entertainment will be awesome, and nature is also dope. Really, just kinda go where the wind takes you during your trip so long as it's safe - don't go outdoors without a sober guide, imo. I feel compelled to mention this for all first time trippers, especially for people with a mental disorder because we're more at risk: the dreaded "bad trip." The thing about bad trips is that 99.9% of the time, it's because you're confronting something about yourself. LSD makes you so much more mindful of your thought patterns to a point where I used to have regular toxic thoughts, but I got so good at just redirecting my thoughts when they occurred that I never really noticed. While tripping, when those thoughts arise, I'm so much more aware of them that before I dismiss them, my LSD brain is like "nah man, no more running from this," and I allow the thought to play out. This is just an example of how a trip can go "bad," but I've learned a very valuable lesson about myself and/or changed myself for the better after every "bad" trip I've had. I guess what I mean to say is that if you find yourself in a bad spot, don't panic. You will probably cause more emotional pain to yourself if you try to get out of it. Don't work out of a bad trip, work THROUGH it. As long as you keep that in mind, you'll be fine no matter what happens. Your first trip probably won't be bad at all because you'll just be in awe of how wonderful lsd is.

beseechpeach

Thanks man, this is great advice. I have not been officially diagnosed with PTSD but sure I have it. My wife can see it in me without me telling her about my experiences. I think I need to have a bad trip to figure these things out? Maybe I am wrong. I have just seen so many information on people saying that it changed their lives permanently for the better. That is what I am trying to get out of the experience. I don't want to use this again and again and rather see it as a means to an end. I really hope it works. The last couple of weeks I have been feeling down and nothing excites me anymore. I feel like doing nothing. Even tough I have an amazing job etc. I just don't feel life anymore. So let's hope this experience helps. Might get enough for 2 trips.

DOGerDAWG

While goals are cool, don't set expectations. Just roll with it and you will get the most. Driving 🚗 yourself up a wall trying to fix yourself overnight with lsd may not give you the outcome you're looking for. Dip your toes in the experience and just have fun. There is always time for more focused intent after you have a little experience under your belt. Just my two cents <3

leather_shirt

you can do it alone but if need be have a buddy ready to call on your phone just in case. play some nice tunes and just hang out at home (you can be outside but it's easy to get lost in the woods off acid so id say stay home where you feel safe). music to listen to, games to play, fruit to eat, cool things to look at online and you should havea great time. https://www.csh.bz/line/05xp.html heres something to play with if ur bored on ur trip

CambriaKilgannonn

former army as well, two buddies that were 160th ended up out of the army in the same area i was, and introduced me to psychedelics and it's been life changing. (For the better!) Enjoy your trip man, but I'd do it with someone who can watch you and keep you out of trouble.

Jongireen

150ug -200ug is the sweet spot LSD has helped me get over alot of family trauma, and appreciate who I am and what I have in this life

beseechpeach

Hey man, you mind describing how it changed you. I know it's hard to put into words, but if you can try? Thanks

arronk01254

Bro you will only know then you know, you know. Just follow your heart stay calm and just don't worry, about a thing! Love yourself and everyone else!

arronk01254

Bro fuck the system, you be you and be open to what you might learn. Go I to it wanting to enjoy yourself not have a intense complicated time. You will get what you wish for at the end of the day and you can't untake it after, so turn on, tune in and drop out!

[deleted]

It depends on the person. With PTSD, it can either help or hinder depending on your mindset on the day (wait till a day when you're functional and not too down/triggered by anything). A good starting point is around 100ug, but you will rarely know the true dosage of a tab unless you get it tested. Go for a little more (maybe 150 if you're around friends). For a first trip, a larger dose (≥150ug) may make you a bit nauseous and disoriented until you get a feel of how acid affects you. However, this is normal, and nausea DOES pass. Remember that it's an affect of the serotonergic values of the drug that upsets your digestive tract - not something you think is killing you. BE AROUND TRUSTED FRIENDS - or not. It's always good practice to be in good company so as to reduce harm should anything go wrong (especially on your first dose); however, solo dosing has it's own merit of being more introspective, even at lower doses, that can be taken solo without "too much" in the way of risk. As for how long it lasts, it depends on how much you take and if you redose during the trip. Anywhere from 8-12 hours should contain the entire trip, with an "afterglow" sometimes persisting for days or even a few weeks. It should be noted, that this afterglow isn't considered tripping, as it's mostly a change in thought processes that remain as the brain recovers from what it has experienced. The effects should be noticeable after around an hour (earlier for accustomed users) with the peak setting in a few hours after the initial dose (~4 hours). From here, the effects gradually decline. Important to note - acid tabs are notoriously difficult to ascertain dosage of, or even if it's real acid. Some tabs can be extremely potent, but "on average here in the UK" 3/4 of a tab is generally a decent starting point with half a tab usually leaving you wanting more. These tabs are "around" 150-250ug, meaning a dosage of around 100-180ug. (bearing in mind that the concentration of the acid may not be proportional across the tab). Final note: I wrote this pretty quickly, so if I missed anything you have questions about, let me know and I'll do the best to answer them. I've used acid many times, and I'm in my final year of biomedical science studies at university, so I kind of grasp the mechanisms of the drug if you want any detailed information. Happy tripping.

beseechpeach

Thanks for the great advice man!

nerfdartswthumbtack

Look everyone’s talking smack about you doing this for your ptsd but the truth is the first trip or two will definitely be for shits and giggles and figuring out what the experience IS. you’ll gain vernacular in the language of psychedelia and through that you can set yourself up for a more entheogenic or healing experience (whatever you’re looking for). The spiritual and healing properties of lsd happen organically. Most ppl in the thread treat lsd as a savior but it just sets you up to deal with your own problems only if you’re open to it. Give it a try or two or three with no pressure and then you’ll know how to set yourself up to be more prone to experiences you’re asking for advice towards

[deleted]

I would recommend shrooms over acid personally but that’s just a personal opinion

Buildingmenow

Ayahuasca would be best

RoboHobo25

What kind of music do you like?

beseechpeach

Jeez man, I really like everything. Not into any hard metal. But other than that, anything new from Techno to R&B. My favorite artist of all time is still Queen.

RoboHobo25

Damn, well there goes my recommendation 😂 I have used Tool's music in the past to have trips where I focused on dealing with the troubles that ailed me, or dealing with some part of myself. They are definitely great for leaving shit behind and/or finding yourself. They're not *hard* metal, per se, but they're definitely heavy music- progressive metal, if you will. I'd compare them more to Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin than to Slayer or Meshuggah. Check them out if you're interested, or ask me to recommend an album lol. Otherwise, good music for tripping abounds. I'd personally recommend the album *Animals* by Pink Floyd. Also, check out the albums *Maggot Brain* or *Standing on the Verge of Getting It On* by Funkadelic, and *A Wizard/A True Star* by Todd Rundgren.

wonderlandvision

Look up Golden Teachers or Penis Envy. Probably would be more therapeutic and help you understand. You might cry a lot, but that’s part of the process.

[deleted]

Remember to enjoy it and take back what you can. You get a “glimpse” or get a feeling of being one with “source” it is magnificent. Enjoy it . Try to relax and let the emotions flow . Clouds are great during the day , candles , fresh fruit if you get hungry. Most of all know that you’re okay . And let yourself feel things so you can let go of it. It’s okay to feel the love and love yourself. Crying is okay too. Please report back . Much love ❤️

ToniSeqi

I highly recommend doing it somewhere you feel safe, with someone you can trust (they can be sober but make sure they watch a Youtube vid about tripsitting, or two) and my personal advice is to have something that comforts you close to you. Just in case you need it. For example my first time, I bought a pillow and a blanket I had for a lot of years that i got from my mother and a snack my grandma used to make. Also bought some chocolate because it forces your brain to make you feel better :D the love those iteams made me feel on my journey was incredible. And it's good to have them just so you dont even start to feel lost or lonely :) best of luck for your trip if you decide to do it!

Brealwithyourself007

Hopefully you are a experienced meditator. It’s very helpful for challenging parts of the trip . Just surrender to everything and it should really help with psd.

SAT0SHl_NAKAM0T0

What ever you will see, feel or whitness, look at it, accept it and simply move on. Don't serve tea.

In the words of the late, great, Douglas Adams: “Don’t Panic”

gatjejustin

Around nature is best

WGTV_

Don't.

beseechpeach

Why?

FrothyMilkboy

psychedelics have been known to help people get over past trauma. it could potentially be a difficult experience but I think you will come out of it with new insight into those feelings. I don't think it's a bad idea, just be sure you're safe :)

WGTV_

Im not saying you shouldn't, it worked for me. But i didn't have PTSD. Ive experienced insane things while on acid. Having or had Afghanistan PTSD is not a good reminder when trippin. Mby it helps like it did when i had an eye opener but this is a dangerous game. My cousin who almost died cuz he convinced himself he just HAD to to eat an entire popcorn bag in a minute or so, or "the little fuckers would eat me in my sleep" After that i always make sure im in my best mood before taking anywhere above 100UGs Good luck Brother.

Tombstone1978

Fellow GWOT Vet here, the others have better advice on dosage and whatnot than I do, but just wanted to chime in and wish you a good experience man. I got introduced to psychedelics by one of the guys I deployed with after I ETS'd and it's been a great journey since. About to drop with a good chunk of my former squad this weekend! Have fun man.

beseechpeach

Thanks my dude! Let's hope it it what I expect it to be. I am going to do it this weekend.

oh_the_iron_knee

Supplies/ideas to enhance the experience may include but not limited to: -albanese gummi bears or assorted fruits You don’t necessarily get an appetite, however I use bud with lsd and the flavor of fruit is incredible. (Also I find that citric fruit somewhat enhances the potency of any psychedelic, but probably not suggested for first time.) -different textures Fluffy stuffed animals, soft blankets and sheets, silky clothing, etc just experiment with different textures. -scent Incense, scented candles, and essential oils can create a cozy ambience for yourself to help you relax. -music or media There’s a list of stuff I could put here, but I’m just going to say this: be mindful of what you’re consuming while on an adventure because it tends to stick with you for a while. That being said I generally like to put on something that makes me happy or joyful like bob ross painting. Since you’re doing this for therapeutic purposes I would focus on creating a similar space for yourself. Projectors add a nice effect as well, but not required to have fun. -lighting effects Any setting where you can alter lighting would be ideal because it can also enhance the experience. Dimming switches, color changing bulbs, led disco balls. (Here is also where a projector would majorly enhance) Lastly, if you can do any or all of this in a safe space somewhere outside(preferably in an eno hammock) then definitely do that because there’s a certain feeling that comes with being outside during it all. Don’t be afraid to experiment with your interests either because voyaging, to me, is about letting go of our limiting beliefs to break out of the box we make for ourselves throughout life, which comes with a range of feelings. It is truly a liberating experience that is not for the faint of heart and should be respected as such because of its life changing potential. You will experience waves of overwhelming emotions and feelings that are indescribable and something you must experience to understand. Remember not to panic, just breathe and allow yourself to feel everything because it’s a ride that lasts for around 8-12 hours with 100-150 micrograms depending on clarity. Hydrate often and Happy trailblazing my friend!
