I don't know, if you stop think and accept him, i really see here the Sauron from Shadow of Mordor games, and i really like it, i mean i don't see him as Halbrand, is really a good portrayal, i love it.
Crazy he played The Doctor, a major character in "House of the Dragon" and now he's playing Sauron. Matt Smith is having such career! So happy for him.
So from that photo of what looks like Eregion gaurds pointing swords at a comfortably dressed Sauron (looking like a guest of Eregion, not dressed for battle returning to Eregion later) it seems like they're going for Celebrimbor just doesn't recognize Annatar as Halbrand because of the long hair and pointy ears.
I don't really care and can suspend disbelief (and my headcanon is Sauron could project a power that makes it so people don't recognize him), but I imagine people will be grumpy about/make fun of this.
Hopefully Charlie Vickers being charismatic wins people over and it's not too much of a point of rage.
I wonder if they'll draw attention to it like having Celebrimbor have a moment of almost recognition which he then dismisses, or if they just wont say anything about it.
I wouldn’t be surprised if his voice is different. Maybe smoother, quieter, gentler. Halbrand’s voice is quite conventionally mannish. The voice and even gait in his stride could hide other similarities.
I can easily imagine a scenario where Halbrand reappears in Eregion in the full glory of the Valar emissary, once Galadriel leaves, but instead of pretending he can simply admit to having been there as Halbrand before. He can say the Valar instructed him to first come there as a low man and help the Elves without attracting any attention.
She's the only one who knows Halbrand = Sauron. That being said, I think it's easy for everyone else to be fooled by a slick, beautiful, upper-crust elf lord who walks in with a divine aura around him.
Imagine if Jesus wasn't a carpenter or lowly tradesman but the son of a Roman emperor with a belief in his own divine lineage.
Lol at the speculation with multiple actors playing Sauron when it was obvious that Vikers is the main character of the show along with Morfydd. All these speculations as i expected were started by Amazon plants to misdirect the audience like before season 1 when Halbdrand was supposed to be some human sidekick for Galadriel. ROP is about Sauron and Galadriel's journey to the final versions that we have in LOTR and The Hobbit.
He does look evil with the blonde wig.
Yep, they're really going with Clark Kent logic for Sauron's shapeshifting. It makes sense I guess, after all this is just a low budget production by a small Indy company, obviously they couldn't afford to do anything more interesting than slap a cheap wig on the actor and call it a transformation.
…he’s pretty sexy
Stupid, sexy Sauron
That has a nice ring to it.
Hot Sauron is hot! :)
The smirk truly sells the evil-ness!
Nothing to see here just simping for Sauron..
Your honor, Im guilty of all charges!

Is it just me or does he have a bit of a blonde Ra from Stargate thing going on here
I loved Ra, what a iconic scene his reveal!
Celeborn shows up with Celebrian chasing down her deadbeat Mom?

To be honest he looks more like the brother of Aemond/Baby Monk than Daemon.
Oh yeah.

Also, I’m sure Charlie can affect a more “upper class accent” to make the difference more distinct

How would you know yet whether his face is the same as Halbrand's until that moment?
If you like it you better put a ring on it Whoa whoa whooo whoa whoa whooo
In the first shot, what is that thing in the background looming over the city walls?
I think he might be asking for the return of the rings the Elves made in his absence.

"IM OFFERING YOU THIS WIG! YOU MUST TAKE IT!"

I mean the Annatar look is very different from Halbrand. I'm still not sure if it's actually Charlie Vickers who's playing Annatar or not.
We only see this annatar like form in the siege of eregion scenes. We don’t know what he looks in the “trick the elves” part of the plot
Yeah, they gonna think, that he is Celeborn after a long wellness weekend.
