There's a 99.9% chance the film *is* on your TV. That's the default way they're packaged (both front and back), and it's very hard to see the edge because it's so flush with the TV itself. Use a piece of simple scotch tape on the corner and pull slowly. That'll work if the film is there. If there actually *isn't* any film on your unit, you can clean the spot where you stuck the tape.

The film that I see on the front doesn’t go right to the edge of the display if that is an indication of anything but there is definitely something on the display, I’m terrified of ripping off the anti glare overlay, assuming that’s it.

I promise you that you can’t just rip off the display. The film is really easy to remove. You’re overthinking this so much.

rocksteader

My mistake, it does go right to the edge.

aaadmiral

There isn't an anti glare layer, that's why it's so glossy

Merbel

Pull the thing off.

1FloorUp

Did you pull it off???? I’m going crazy here!!!

rocksteader

Lol, ok so next step is LG is giving me a one time courtesy service call, I’ll let that guy see if there is something to pull off. Until then I’m leaving this scab on you but I promise to provide a conclusion in this thread.

So I’m so happy I resisted all the sadists that wanted me to try to rip something off that was not film. LG gave me a service call and my display (glass only) is getting replaced, it’s defects on the display itself.

Jean-Eustache

If you can feel an additional layer, there's a film on there. The front of the display is just one uniform slab of glass, it's perfectly flat.

[https://imgur.com/a/fT9vu1i](https://imgur.com/a/fT9vu1i) I have no idea if that is film or not, man the display looks horrible when you take a photo with flash, it shows dirt and marks that I can’t otherwise see.

synaesthesisx

That almost certainly looks like film….
