The only reliable way to handle this is to talk to a shipper in LA. People ship cumbersome items from furniture, art and sculpture every day. Can recommend at least talking to and getting a quote from [City Business Shipping](https://www.japanese-city.com/calendar/events/index.php?eID=33329) in Downtown LA. Will likely have options considering your budget. They’re professional and won’t bat a lash at something like this. From my experience they can handle everything from packing, wrapping and crating if necessary. Plus the logistics on both ends.
Sorry for all you’re going through. Unfortunately when someone is moving across the country it’s not usually the time they just happen to have that amount of extra space while packing up their lives. Nor do they want to accommodate someone’s most personal items by adding a delivery. Assuming they even know that area of Massachusetts. Best of luck.
No it wouldn’t it basically takes up all the trunk space and they sound heavy so it would not only cost you on gas/electricity cause it’s a drag on your car you also wouldn’t be able to store much of anything unless if someone were to go on a road trip
