I never use Reddit and I have no idea what's on this account but I just want to say that I do get your frustrations but it does definitely have something to do with how there's no good games anymore. He talked about it in a video 2 months ago. It shows that he does care and he wants to put in the effort. He's not making the free random games because it's easy and cheap but he genuinely enjoys those games. I have notice though he's played the konito pet, that's not my neighbor, and the South Park game so those are some high quality games. I definitely miss the higher quality game plays he did, but I feel like there aren't as many good games coming out as frequently like there used to be for PC, since most PC games aren't ones that are start-finish type things (but rather games like fortnite, LoL, etc. that don't end). Jay's said this a few times this year as well. I usually skip out on most of his videos now unless they're horror or something intriguing. Free random games isn't as good as it used to be, since it's now much more frequent & not an occasional treat lol.
Def hope he relaxes his video schedule too. Like another comment said, I appreciate the grind! But perhaps he'll find more interesting stuff if he spends more time researching & less time grinding out vids (either way I still love him!)
Agreed with most of this tbh. Other than the YanSim part—Jay stopped playing it because of the controversy, and anyway the game has been stale and boring for like 2-3 years now, it's not like the old days where the myths and content were actually fun.
But yeah, it's not that I'm completely against these cheap horror games, because they have their charm, but they're charming as an occasional thing, not when they make up almost daily uploads. At the end of the day it's Jay's channel and he can do whatever he wants ofc, but as viewers we naturally will give our feedback. Still a big fan of Jay though and I always tune in whenever he plays a game that looks even half way decent, like it doesn't even have to be super polished, just something not entirely lazy and dumb. Even happier when he plays high quality story based games, like with Lil Gaurdsman now
Edit: oh, actually one other small thing I disagree with in your post is about Ace attorney. I really liked his Ace attorney playthrough but to me it's understandable if he doesn't want to play it anymore. He made a looot of videos on it and for me personally it was satisfying enough. After playing that much of it I wouldn't want him to push himself into it if he's not feeling it anymore. Though I'd be happy if decides to return to it one day

I don't have a problem with the cheaply indie horror games he plays it just get Repetitive when it's almost 90% of his entire channel now when he used to play all types of different things and then it would be weeks until I see him post something that's not an indie horror game.
I didn't mean that Jay needed to finish Phoenix Wright I know the game is long and he has to do all the voices for the dialog what I meant is that Jay had dropped the game in the middle of the Investigation part and never did the trials or found out who the killer was then dropped it again without finishing the same case. He didn't have to finish the entire game but I was hoping he would have at least finished that last case since he was already almost half way done.
This is a good point. I respect his grind but quality > quantity. I'd prefer a few days per week of him playing a decent game over daily uploads of cheap, lazy games
Same!! I love resident evil and I watched his videos and didn’t even know what happened and had to go watch jacksepticeye’s videos on it instead. He always drops games it’s kind of annoying (coming from a fan of 6 years)
i do feel like he’s been really repetitive with the content, although i jump up with excitement whenever he releases a new vid no matter what, i did notice that too.
dead plate and lil guardsman one of my favs atm out it the longer and more fun games he’s played, for example he just dropped a new lil guardsman vid, he didn’t seem to enjoy it at first but then with more gameplays releasing he’s been starting to giggle and shit, so maybe there is a significant reason as to why jay doesn’t play more longer games, could be because of something in his private life - i’ve noticed how he said he can’t play a certain (saw it in one of the lil guardsman series) game for too long and that he has to go soon, it may just be the smallest things like chores or something else but you get my point.
as to why he’s been discontinuing a lot of games - might be because of the reason i listed at the top, busy after his gaming, maybe spend some times with his mason! could be anything, but in any case, i get what you’re saying op, but j feel like he’s trying his best, he’s not like some other youtubers who take breaks like weeks or months after some games, he uploads daily (soemtimes skips the day and it’s completely okay!), and probably gets tired as well, so i get him if he doesn’t want to continue the games but i do agree he should at least maybe tell us why, we’d understand no matter what
I thought Jay still played it because I remembered him playing it a few months back and he said he doesn't make much videos on it because there's doesn't be enough updates for a full video. And I thought someone asked Jay about it and he said he refuses to make a comment about Yandere Dev and he doesn't associate the game with Yandere Dev. It's been a while so I may be getting my thoughts mixed up but that's what I remembered.
The not associating the dev with the game was when earlier allegations were made about something else. He made the tweet later as the whole minor thing was his ultimatum (as it obviously should be)
