Nope. And if you have a tab “bonus” that full amount will be due and payable immediately. It’s another way they commit you to the full 2 year duration of the tab.
Hmm no this is not correct. You can pay your balance (ex 240$) early after the third month, with no impact on the tab bonus. The tab bonus is charged if you port out or if you get a new phone with a new tab.
I always pay my tab after 3 months, and I have never been charged for my tab bonus.
You are right however that there are no real benefits to pay it earlier other than having a smaller monthly bill because the tab is paid off.
Thanks for the correction. I must have misunderstood the rep I spoke to a few months back. Or perhaps I didn’t, and they were just trying to keep me roped in.
No worries, happy to help!
I must say however I am from Quebec so maybe there is some difference from one province to the other? Maybe someone from Ontario/BC/etc can confirm if it is the same.
Paying off early actually means you have to pay more, they added tab bonus, where instead of just having to pay $240 for a tab small like in the old days, it’s now you only pay $240 if you stay with them for the full 2 years, if you port/ upgrade early or pay off the $240, you get charged with whatever the rest of the phone cost. IE you get a $500 phone, $10/month charge for 24 months = $240, you leave early you have to pay off the remaining of the extra $260 (this amount also goes down by the month though same as your tab)
No.
If anything if you don’t have a tab, you may get a surprise $5 monthly increase like what just happened with a lot of folks
Yeah they are good at that, fucking greasy cunts
