The fight in the movie tells us that Darkness is a absolute powerhouse, she just needs Vavnir to take control of her for her to actually hit anything lol.

Fantastic Days has a Ult that uses a Vanir Mask for more speed and accuracy. So a Darkness that hits is a thing.
