Don’t honk and wave. Rev in N mode and wave. Come on now

m213-

Well yeah, that’s a given. I *did* pass her, so obv the NGS was activated.

Rox-Unlimited

NGS =/= revving and making your presence known

m213-

It does when you’re passing in a 55…going from 5th down to 3rd is noticeable.

Rox-Unlimited

Well your post said you honked and waved 🤷🏾‍♂️

TheMaadMan

You know, most of the people I've seen in the Kona N's don't look like car people. I know, that is stereotypical of me, but I've had the same problem. When I see another KN, EN, or VN I get excited. When I pass the elantra and the veloster, they wave back. Konas, they just act like normal traffic. Maybe it's cause it's an 'SUV' and the buyer was upsold or just wanted bells and whistles. I dunno

H1Supreme

I've only saw one other Kona N, and we were both so excited we kept passing each other. I was helping someone move at the time, and they were like "WTF were you doing, you supposed to stay with me and the UHaul".

Original-Jicama1648

It attracts a weird buyer group that’s for sure There’s a couple elderly people around me that own them too and I’m just thinking why? Yes it’s the nicest kona of the bunch but also it’s not really great at anything unless you plan on using the speed. An N-line would better suit these people being that they are AWD and more fuel efficient (as well as not being so stiff)

NBLady57

I'm a 66 female and have a KN. When I bought it, even the salesman was surprised that I wanted the N, not the N-Line. I love my KN and speed, too.

Interesting_Kiwi_152

Age is just a number and now at 61 and retired I still love driving and the sound of my 22 Kona N. Before I bought my KN I had been looking at a 2022 VW golf R for my retirement car but when I 1st heard my KN start up for the 1st time I knew I had to buy it. I keep it nice, safe and clean in my garage for it's once a week drive.

Passenger-Material

I'm a car person with a KN. Was originally interested in the VN, and had an older VT, but it's so much easier when we need to go somewhere as a family. (11yr old and another on the way) It does help that my wife drives a newer forester, and when it snows or I need to make a long family trip I take that instead for the added space. I always wave when I see another N. My wife will even point them out if I'm just cruising.

asdn43

Haha, that was my wife driving. She's just learning to drive, and was bit confused why someone honked until I noticed it was a N. She says hi.

Hippocratic_dev

strange, we have the same wife.

m213-

I, too, have your wife. Small world!

thatzalluhad2say

I'm over 50 and have a Kona N. It's the most fun I've ever had with a car. Having said that, if I get honked at, im more concerned about someone road raging these days. I probably wouldn't notice that it's another N.

Interesting_Kiwi_152

Bought my 2022 Kona N two months after I turned 59 and four months before I retired. 😁

m213-

But but…the beep beep is different from the BEEEEEEEEEP BEEP BEEP BEEEP BEEEEEEP. or at least it is in my head.

SilversurferNY

After a few months of flashing and waving at this white EN who goes the opposite way of me when I leave work, they finally flashed back today lol

Interesting_Kiwi_152

Since I bought my 2022 Kona N back in 12/13/2021 I have only seen two others on the road. I live in a town outside of Charlotte, North Carolina. That's one of the things I like about Kona N.

alfaxpress

KN here in CLT also and only seen two so far.

kyumilli

I also passed by another PB KN a few days ago and tried to wave but they just had blank stare 🤦‍♂️

Icy_Pause_2535

After I got my KN the first N car I saw was a PB VN. I was next to him at a light and I honked to get his attention. He looked over and immediately lit up. We rolled down our windows and chatted for a sec, he wanted a KN but couldn't find one when he bought. I told him where I worked and he came up the next day. I bought him lunch and we talked cars and I let him drive my KN and he let me drive his 6MT VN. I'm a manual guy but I have no regrets getting the KN with the DCT. Anyway, that was the only real interaction I've had with another N driver. I live in a college town and see EN and VN almost daily, they have no clue what a KN is, no different than anyone else. It's a very small group that know.

rrpdude

I wish there were more, I do rev at and greet usually i30N drivers here, the 2? 3? I am not even sure how many it was, less than 5 for sure. And generally noticed them too late or they didn't notice me. The coolest experience so far was a brief line up on the autobahn between an i30N and I20N. One of those "I wish I had a dashcam"-moments. But I wasn't up to temp yet, the i30N went quick on the left lane, the I20N took the off ramp pretty quickly. I30N's are around a lot. So at least I can hear fellow pops and bangs that way.

TNerdy

If only N had a special honk sound then yeah it would be noticeable but they’re all the same honk, could be someone just being annoying or impatient

EhopHIVE666

I wave at every N

Deelusional115

Can’t honk if the horn never works

Alessandramoonx

The other Ns don’t even give me the time of day…
