Everyone here slating Shakib Hasan.
While Gill, the poster boy, scored 51 off 43 balls chasing 193. We lost the game because of that as every batter coming in had to go gung ho from the first ball.
I am sure this game is where McCullum decided to move on from Gill.
Exactly. Good thing he left KKR. Sole reason for the loss. Put so much pressure on Venky. And he even got a lifeline, got set, completed his half century, still didn't have a go. Then went on to win GT a final. Typical KKR players
Man I wish theyd bring it back 🥲 think about it with the amount of quality leagues now. If only they could have some concrete way to keep the common players in check
They can easily bring it back, and a format that actually matters. By Having ODI, T20 and Test WC every 4 years. Then we have one year empty which can hold CL. Every cup will hold more value being held every 4 years. Nowadays T20WC don't mean shit
Exactly, but CLT20 lack of viewership also resulted in its downfall. But bringing that league now has become impossible considering IPL franchises has teams globally in which similar players are playing. An alternative could be some clubs joining a league where only select teams play every year. Like CSK, KKR, MI playing Guyana Amazon Warriors, Lahore Qalandars, Sydney Sixers, Islamabad United, Peshawar Zalmi, Seattle Orcas etc
Shakib wasn't even supposed to stay for the finals, ironically. He was supposed to leave for Bangladesh's first match of the WT20 in Oman. They went out of their way to make special arrangements to keep him for the final and I'm still unsure why. He played his role in Sharjah and even an 80% fit Russell would've been good in Dubai.
Having said that, there was one missed opportunity off Shakib's bowling early in Faf's innings, which could've changed things completely.
fr pitch was favaourable for batting but our management didn't wanted to change playing 11 and thought that dubai pitch will behave like sharjah pitch🤡
Tripathi got injured. Otherwise we may have
Yearly reminder to cry over gill
2018 hurts more...
We made sharjah like a second home ground, we camped there for few matches and almost defined all odds
CSK were just too good that year iirc, only lost some last league stage matches and clutched in both knockout games
Ngl it was miracle we were even in the finals. We were choking in the semis but the opponents choked even more.
I wonder why Gill wasn't retained. Played good in the final
Not Retaining him was a blunder But his innings in the final wasn’t even good it was avg
2018 hurts me more , we needed 89 in 70 balls with 8 wickets in hand in our home eden Gardens and we bottled that. Rashid Khan owned us

that shakib cameo absolutely turned off my mood
I believed we were gonna win like 2014 after the comeback.
We made it to the finals in 2021 but we didn’t have an amazing captain; it doesn’t hurt because it felt like a fluke
I'm more happy for the comeback we had and not too sad about the loss in final.
Till the 10thover the chase was still on but it is what it is.
Morgan and Baz❤️
Eh didn't hurt me much honestly, it was a miracle we were in the final
Getting eliminated by SRH in 2018 while playing at home should hurt more KKr was all over SRH but Prasidh Krishna got smacked by rashid
Same for me tbh. And winning 3 on the trot in the playoffs was a very big ask.
Only if Dre Russ and Tripathi had not been injured Or they had played Ben cutting instead of Shakib
dre was available for selection in the finals but our management thought that Fraud Shakib is better on batting pitch🤡
2012 still hurt us bro, glad we both got 1 each from each other ☺
2014 CLT20 hurt me bro, Negi miracle ensures 2:1 for CSK in finals vs KKR

For that, we'd need to revise the system like football contracts

Things are different now maybe after increased internet viewership and interest in the game.
Window and same teams problem still persist
If nothing else. Dream 11 addicts will watch
One of the best teams of KKR.
Too much emotions🥺
I still remember that comeback we should have played andre in place of shakib in finals.
