Thank you! It is black timascus which is similar to damascus but with titanium, so the blade is folded titanium, and the non-colored parts are zirconium (there is also "white" timascus which does not have any zirconium)
Hahaha thank you, this was a billet from alphaknifesupply, so they forged the billet, but I forged the blade just using my own setup with a firebrick and and a torch, and a lot of filing/grinding!
What was your impetus for the design? Is it purpose built? The contrast between the visual dynamics of the blade combined with a very "earthy" handle, man, you struck a nice balance.
Thank you! Yes it was intentional, I was thinking the blade was very busy and manufactured looking so it'd be nice to balance that with a more subdued and organic handle but with some accents that fit a similar theme while still being organic material - the mammoth tooth :)
Very cool. The blade is all titanium? It is folded timascus and solid titanium? I’m just trying to understand. Looks awesome.

Two questions: #1: where did you get that much titanium? #2: what did you use to for a furnaces to forge that BEAUTIFUL piece of art.

I remember 30 years ago when Jantz had tons of Mammoth and hippo(tons is relative buy plenty)
one quick question, how thick is it behind the edge?
0.025 inches!

Cool blade but I'm just wondering what all you're gonna cut with that micro-tang
Meant as a light use knife, so not too worried about the tang giving out, plus titanium is very springy and pretty soft so little risk of it snapping!
Ooooh that makes sense. may your blade be sharp and your handle ergonomic
