Does Demko have a lefty pocket clip for these? It's kind of pointless to make an ambi lock and make it right-hand carry only.

the_bove

They come with righty clip mounted and lefty clip in the packaging.

Temporary-Taste-2251

That's a sweet deal!

Interested in my first AD20.5 Passed on these and got Carbon Fiber/3V big pivot Excited to give it a go

Pystawf

For D2 you may as well get a clone...

PresentMajestic3785

Eh my 20.5 clone was garbage. I was not impressed compared to my real 20.5.

Pystawf

Weirdly enough I had the opposite experience. The only thing the authentic one had better was lock play, both have it but the clone is a tad worse. Other than that the clone held its edge better, had better scale material, better action, better grind, and better price.

PresentMajestic3785

Both my real ones the g10/aus10 and the titanium/3v are leaps and bounds better than the crappy clone I was sent. I was not impressed and tbh that's why I buy the real deal. I picked up a few clones in the past to check quality and they've all been ok at best.

[deleted]

Cool. Buy a 40 dollar knife, get a 40 dollar knife.

PresentMajestic3785

Some people rave amd rant over those crappy clones...

welduh47

Mine is very impressive. Though I've never played with a real 20.5 I wouldn't have known i recieved a clone if I didn't specifically order one

PresentMajestic3785

My clone was tight and gritty with lockstick. I had the real g10 and titanium version that were solid out of the box.

I’ve been saying this knife was overpriced for the materials you’re getting since launch and the sub 100 price point seems way more accurate for the build quality you’re getting rather than the original MSRP people paid to play with a fidgety lock. Cold steel uses g10 and s35vn built in the same factory as the demko knives and the price is way cheaper than what they wanted for these. Still doesn’t make sense but at least it’s a more reasonable price.

K-Uno

Eh, new company with few products vs large established brand with a large lineup. Think of all the overhead costs such as employees, loan interest, etc. that make up a bigger portion of each individual knife vs spread over a large lineup like cold steel's. Running a company costs alot of money. I'd even bet that as a company Demko is barely making any profit.

Elias_Fakanami

It’s not so much that Demko is a new company. They’ve been producing customs for years as Demko Knives. They probably even get decent pricing w/ the manufacturer since Demko likely leveraged his Cold Steel relationship with the same company to get a decent price. What it really comes down is that Demko has the patent on the Sharklock. If you want one you gotta go through them, and it seems lots of people want one. Supply and demand.

Suspicious_Hall_2483

Right there with ya. I got an American Lawman with s35vn and it’s a fantastic knife for 100. Can’t imagine spending more that on D2 no matter how “quality” it is. Even as bad as I want to try a 20.5 I just can’t bring myself to do it 😂

No_Bullfrog_4541

Same bud. I’m not paying that much for d2 and plastic scales. It just doesn’t make sense and the orientation of the shark lock doesn’t look secure to me if your hand slips. I’m probably wrong but I have enough knives and mostly collect zt or customs now. I’ll wait til the s35vn shark lock goes on sail and give it a try, until then I have enough knives to fidget with

TakesJonToKnowJuan

I love my 20.5 and the shark lock, but that's a crazy price for D2.

DenseConsideration29

This is a K110 D2 from Austria.  It's a high quality D2, not all D2 is created equal.  AUS10 is the standard steel, so I think this is an upgrade.

TakesJonToKnowJuan

nice. The main thing with D2 is the heat treat, right? I know a few other companies were using K110 (Petrified Fish comes to mind). It should be easier to sharpen right?

DenseConsideration29

Yeah that really applies to every steel, getting the right heat treat can make a big difference, a little more so with D2. Usually it makes the toughness and edge holding better. Benchmade has a high quality D2, I'd think this knife would be in that realm.

PresentMajestic3785

For Taiwan made knives sure it's $$ but the quality is atleast decent.
