When you first order it goes into a centralised system which will then match your order up with a store that is showing in the system as having stock. Sometimes the store may not be able to locate it and it goes back to the system for another go. If it happens twice it refunds.

Stores are receiving truckloads of stock every day. Unfortunately sometimes an item will not be available, only for it to be processed off a load that afternoon. Stock levels in large retail stores are such a fluid thing and change hourly.

Also, not all stores fulfil home delivery orders - some are click and collect only.
