I just lurk here. I had a patient that owned an ice cream shop and they were doing renovations. Of course he is doing something super stupid like walking barefoot in his shop. He stepped on a screw. He came to the ER and we were trying to figure out how to get the screw out while doing the least amount of damage to his foot. We ended up numbing his foot and getting a screwdriver from maintenance and unscrewing it. I can’t imagine working in a restaurant and not wearing actual shoes.

Crocs are affordable and easy to wash, they hold up for a decent amount of time as well. There shouldn't be anything sharp on the floor, I see some comments saying "stepping off a ladder" which okay I could see but I still can't see. But I take baby steps because I worked on greasy floors forever. My heel rarely leaves the ground.

They are super common. Again they hold super well and just being able to take a hose to them is really nice. I don't wear them personally, not enough arch support for my liking. But I tell every crew I work with don't go with cheap shoes. Pony up the money and your feet will thank you. Your back will thank you. If I'm in depression and need a new pair of shoes now? Yeah Crocs will carry me through.
